I personally believe we can put a stopper to the shirt deal discussion. I have no doubts about the honesty & authenticity of the poster, but I do believe there is a form a mix up somewhere along the line. It simply doesn't make any sense to me to call off the UA-deal, it is quite beneficial to both parties in a way that a Nike-deal could not be, IMO. Nike is already big in Europe (almost with a better reputation than in the US, I find). UA's presence in the UK market is only down to Tottenham & Wales. Equally, for Spurs to be connected in the US to the quite highly regarded UA is a big advantage.

Nike won't have much of a presence in England after next year though, What with the goons having switched to Puma, and United switching to Adidas.

It would leave just QPR and Man City as Nike's premier league sponsored teams, if QPR stay up

How is it stupid? We're an English football club who are historically known for buying young British talent. Also I didn't say that we should sign English players exclusively just we should buy more of them. I'm not even British but I just feel we've been going against the history of the club somewhat in recent years.

I must have missed that part of our history.

We were one of the pioneers of the innovative import, with players like Ardiles and Villa.

Over and above complying with HG regulations I don't want nationality to be a factor, I want a player's ability/character etc to be the criteria.

Well, if Lennon can't even get to the bench with that line-up, he must be going.

Yeah, that's how I viewed it as well. He's obviously not injured, that bench could have done with more pace, but he didn't even get the nod. Hopefully Levy can be realistic (LOL, I know) when talking to suitors for Lennon in regards to his fee.

Indeed we were right at the forefront of the foreign influx which has shaped the modern PL. It was after the '94 World Cup it started en masse and that summer we brought in Klinsmann, Dumitrescu and Popescu
