My worry is that we'll end the window weaker than we started it. Say what you like about Lennon, he does have the ability to change a game - he was great against Everton in the league. We don't have too many game changers in the squad, and we don't have much pace.

we end almost every january window weaker than we started it. Then are amazed why we fall from 3rd / 4th challenges

With the Arsescum's imminent singing of Paulista and City's completion of Bony, it just shows that if you do your scouting, research a player's current standing within their club and have ambition (funds and desire) then you can get improvements to the first XI. We just consistently don't do these things in January

I see no reason why second/third choices can't work out. The trick surely has to be not to invest too much in them. So no big transfers, just reasonable fees and reasonable wages, that way we're minimising the liability if it doesn't work out.

We can't just throw this season away, we're in a good position if we just get a couple more players in that can fit in with what Pochettino wants.

The last paragraph fits most years for us

I say clear as much deadwood as we can that does not effect starting 11 (Lennon, Kaboul, Holtby, BAE, Khumalo). Bring Pritchard back and that should see us through to a good season with hopefully a cup final.

As someone said not many good players available in Jan so no point as we will end of with second/third choices which will be our deadwood in 18mths.
I don't think we should rock the boat with Pritchard

He's having a very successful loan spell at Brentford and I think it will benefit his development and therefore us more in the long run to allow him to complete the season with them

Then give him a chance in preseason like Mason got this and hopefully he will be cutting it in the Prem for us next year

Just my 2 cents

Obviously Holtby is injured now but am i the only one who thinks he would be a much better fit than most we have at cm at the moment? Seems like everyone wants rid...strange

Ings, Reid, Kono, Ayew, etc. The value will be in the summer.

When we can't complete with the likes of Liverpool and Inter for wages? Spurs need to be smarter given the less sizable financial power and make fair offers for players such as Milner, Ings, Ayew when they only have 6 months left. I highly doubt they will choose spurs when they see what other clubs are offering for signing on fees and wages come summer. #missedopportunity

Depends on how much game time we can give him, looks a better player than Townsend to me the times I've seen him, I'd have him a first back up to the am 3.

If we're not going to play him much leave him at Brentford

We are an injury/burnout to Kane away from being 10th this season, he has carried us, him and Eriksen

Another striker would have seen us have a serious shot at Top 4

Levy and Lewis are complete and utter ****s, just interested in money/no ambition, the business equivalent of Adebayor

I just think it will be better for his development to finish the season at Brentford, especially while they're having a successful season

He could end up experiencing promotion to the Prem or a play off final and trip to Wembley for example - all good for his confidence and development

I certainly don't think we should bring him back now to be a back up for us this season

He has plenty of time to play for us in the future - don't rush his progress, things are coming along nicely with him as they stand in my eyes

That last sentence makes no sense, if you're just interested in money then they have huge ambition to make money

Seems we're going to gamble on one of Ade or Soldado stepping up and having a decent run to close out the season to support Kane

Who knows, maybe it will be the making of Bobby and save us some money - unlikely I know but you never know, time could see his confidence return and a good partnership develop with Kane

Yeah I appreciate both sides of the argument, like I said it's down to game time for me. I certainly think he could add more to our team than a lot of the current players

Absolute stupidity from the owners, bordering on the reckless

Kane having to carry the team on his back at 21, covering 13m a game, he is a fit lad but it is unsustainable, we saw how James McCarthy's hamstrings are shot at his age due to over use, and can see the same happening with Kane

Soldado is not good enough and Adebayor doesn't have the drive and attitude to fill in for Kane

We need another striker, end of, I really fear for Kane

Ings for example

With 6 months left on his contract how much would he cost? 5m tops?

It's been said before, but what motivation is there for Burnley to sell now for up to £10m when they could keep him and give themselves as good a chance of staying up and earning another season of £60m+ in TV money? Sure, he might leave for a tribunal fee at the end of the season, but there's far more financial incentive for Burnley to keep him unless he demands a transfer or goes on strike.

Are we really surprised? It's the same story every year, hoping we make a few additions when in reality nothing actually happens.

You can bet this time next year we will be in the same situation AGAIN before reality hits us AGAIN.

Yep. It was always going to happen. That's the trouble when the owners of the club are more worried about making money than anything else.

Now where are those Qataris?!?!
