Can't say I'm surprised that another January will pass where those teams around will strengthen and we'll effectively weaken our squad, Levy makes a nice profit again that just disappears and the party line is "we're clearing out the deadwood ready for the summer, January is a sellers market". Will it be any surprise that in the summer we need to sell before we buy?

All this talk that there's money to spend on the right player is complete nonsense. As is the excuse of clearing the wage bill. Every January we make money & every summer we break even at worst. Great business model, shit football model as we experienced again yesterday with some of the mediocre rubbish I paid to watch. We have 4 maybe 5 players to thank for the results we've been getting and those results have papered over the cracks. Levy and Enic are ripping us apart. Lloris & Jan will be next out in the Summer. To be replaced by more dross like the last two summer's work.

Its no suprise is it that we are bringing no one in its reverting to type,but as you say others will strengthen and we do nothing.
In football if you stay as you are you go backwards which with a club of our size and stature its nonsense that we only want to try for loan deals or out of contract cheap buys.
There is a real chance of Silver this year and yet the club seemingly dont have much ambition but rather hold us back with bean counting.
Even fat sam has been talking up that West ham will spend quite big next year which considering their huge debt seems strange they can do it, so why cant we splash a bit of cash seeing as we are so well run.
Im starting to seriously doubt the long term plan and ambition for this club.

The summer will be the same imo, this bloated squad of wasters problem will haunt us for a few seasons imo.

Let's face it with the strikers alone who's gonna take Ade on his wages? Who's gonna offer enough for us to recoup a respectable amount for Soldado?

Mystery seems to surround the contract length of ade and Kaboul, do they finish this season? Next season? Or is next season a years option? Going with form from the powers that be if it's a option we'll exercise it in the deluded belief of getting some money for the players

Yet people are still clambering for us to sign more instant deadwood like Reid and Delph

Yes - I think both Ade and Kaboul have contracts that expire this summer, but with 1 year options to extend. So we can release them in June, or we can extend and try to sell.

Really hope we hardly sell anyone now, we need the depth and I'd rather us suffer the wages than weaken our squad at the end of a window AGAIN. Don't want to buy until summer, then don't sell either.

No no! We need to sell desperately or otherwise we hear the same excuse come the summer. Squad too big,wages too high......tho they'll probably just find another excuse.

We are going forward though. But our 5 new players are from the academy. And there'll be more coming through soon too.

It's not going backwards, it's sustainable organic growth. Signings just paper over the cracks when you don't have a proper setup

I've developed a very ambivalent relationship to JJ's info. One on hand, I greatly appreciate that he keeps lingering around.
On the other hand, his info of late is almost alway negative, he po(o)ps around only to deny things, be it specific or general info from other outlets. Furthermore, he has had over the last months a willed (?) tendency to not be correct.

Adding up and subtracting info after my own accord, I think there will be 2 more out and 1 in.

We are going forward though. But our 5 new players are from the academy. And there'll be more coming through soon too.

But the club set up is fine and what the last two games have shown is a lack of being able to finish two penaltys against weaker opposition.
We are crying out for fresh blood but sometimes i dont think levy gets it right

I Think you're probably about right. I feel with jj that he's had his fingers burnt and is very very wary of that happening again. Not that he's probably particular bothered that some of his info didn't come off but the numerous idiots on here and twitter giving the poor bloke shit. When all he's trying to do is be a good sport and spill some beans. It's down to us how we handle that info. So instead of giving us positive news that can soon go wrong. He gives us the negative that can only get better. In my opinion!

That's true, it really isn't worth just getting players in to make the numbers up.

It's not that I don't appreciate the ITK that we get but it's a bit crazy how it can be so contradictory.

I'm not an ITK basher, nor an ITK lover. I appreciate that there are those that probably have some insight; those that have none whatsoever and are just bullshitters; and those that are going on what other people claim to be ITK and just passing it on in good faith. Pinch of salt is required as always. Although I joke I'm not actually surprised if one ITK gets completely contradictory info to another.

Yeah, I agree that we're only likely to see incomings after outgoings. I reckon we'll see Lennon go, but that's about it. I'm sure Kaboul and Ade are on the list but if nobody wants them, and we can't find suitable replacements at the same time, then we're stuffed. Not sure if we'd even replace Lennon if he goes.

We’ve not spent (net) for 6 years now. It’s our 10 years of austerity to pay for the stadium.

We never do business in January anymore either.

I just don’t get why people expect different.




We’ve got the wrong sort of depth though. We have 18 good players, and about 12 crap ones.

We also don’t have any early round cup games any more, so there’s not really the need/opportunity to use the crap players

I don't agree it is undermining Poch. The one thing he's been banging on about since day 1 is that the squad is too big for him to work with

I'm speaking more to ITK knowledge than actual transfers but yes I agree with you, January is not our transfer time and there is logic behind our decision making--whether that decision making is beneficial is up for debate.

No i dont think we will either. Problem is we need to shift a lot of players in all honesty. These 3 are just the obvious ones. Could easily add another 3 or 4 to that list. But i bet we could shift them......just not a bloody Levy's price. Thats the problem
