Is the answer 'Arsenal'? Or 'last minute deadline day failure resulting in us buying a replacement from the Latvian second division'?

New contract at Soton I reckon. Although both of those are also more likely than him playing for Spurs.

In terms of the player that we have 'done' (from Ali Z), if that's right I'd imagine it's Rabiot as that's been on the cards for a while.

I'm not sure Rodriguez signing a new deal necessarily means we won't get him at some point. His contract was due to expire at the end of next season so he may have signed a new deal as a gesture of good faith after they stood by him through the injury.

Either way it doesn't necessarily have any impact on the various bits of info around Schneiderlin.

I'd guess Wimmer, but Rabiot is a really good shout - PSG's injury problems have eased a bit recently, so he'd probably have got a bit less game time, but he's actually been pretty comprehensively frozen out.

Forgot about him. But I'd probably guess Ali Z is talking about Wimmer.

I'd be surprised if it's Rabiot. If he's being sold I don't imagine it would be a quiet transfer, they'd be shouting it from the rooftops to get the best price possible. I also doubt it would be done early for the same reason, I'd imagine a few Italian clubs would be interested in doing a deal once the window kicks off.

I think it's probably Wimmer. Or maybe someone like Ntep if we're expecting a lukewarm reception for the transfer.

has this from jasper on so been posted?
The whispers inside the corridors is MS keen on us, but dependent on certain assurances. He will 'not' sign the new contract (improvement on present one). We are talking to them. We did not offer on Rodriguez. Rabiot we want permanent and not a loan. Alli and Pritchard will not be loaned out. That is what I have heard. 3 deals confirmed, no shocks on who they are again I am told.

on ms AND rabiot:You know how it goes but what I have shared I am confident that is the case, just hope one or both happens.

Lloris WILL BE HERE NEXT SEASON. Not shouting! But that is how emphatic the talk from inside is.

So, is it MS as number one and Rabiot as plan B...can't see how we need both of them really?

ETA: Especially as we'd need to shift 4 existing CM's off the book so we wouldn't be stockpiling. Big ask!

I'm gutted about Rodriguez. His new contract prices us well out of the market for him

What's our plan b for LWF. Ayew?

Getting Ings in early would make my summer

They are very different players too.

Rabiot is more defensive. A younger Stambouli type. Cover for Bentaleb.

Schneiderlin is more the forward one of the pivot. An older/more developed Mason.

I'm not convinced either are what we need/particular upgrades tbh.

It's May, our season is over (as we seem to be playing "please take our Europa League place Chicken with Saints, Pool and now Swansea) so it's time for unbridled optimism about deals being done early, clearing the decks and a rosy next season. Not to mention I needed something to distract me from the pile of work I've got to do.

I expect reality to bite (the comedown is always bad...) before the end of June.

Levy out/Poch out/ENIC out/Ade out/ffs just sell them (delete as appropriate)
