Yes.

(apart from Brazilyid)

As said above, Levy has assured AVB, and in turn Paulinho, (who has been quoted as such) That Bale will not be sold.

So selling Bale whatever the costs would open up far too many cans of worms IMO.

Too right.

A world record fee and we'd sell, imo. I think DL would have to take it and I could see AVB, Baldini and whoever else being OK with it too as long as a large chunk of that money goes back into the team.

On condition they loan him back to us for a season ;)

I'm not so sure mate. Not if we think we can get a big fee next season for him, which we most likely could. Offset that against what he could earn us on and off the field for at least another season, not to mention the mammoth growth in our profile over the world if we continue to hold on to him.

I honestly don't think 80 million is that much considering our strong position contractually - as crazy as that sounds.

Exactly. I'm sure Bale will go next summer, but given what both AVB and Paulinho have said about being assured Bale will be staying, I'd be shocked if he went now. It would guarantee AVB leaving (either quitting or taking the next good opportunity), and would immediately make Paulinho question his decision to join us.

seems some people would rather believe bullshit internet rumours and various bottles of sauces rather than real ITKs AVB, Tim Sherwood and more recently Paul who said he is staying

oh well let people panic themselves. now where's our creative midfield genius signing!?:grumpy:

Really can't see GB wanting to leave us the season we bring in David Villa and Paulinho and possibly add even more. We should be a strong team with a very good manager that could be successful next year. Surely if you were him you'd give it another year, he's only 23.

Guys/girls there is at least two people in this thread who can shoot me down. But I have heard (weeks ago) that we are expecting or anticipating a big bid. And plans have been made.

To confirm I'm saying he wants out. Or he will be leaving.

Enough of this nonsense. Bale's staying. We've just signed Paulihno, Villa's next so are the two Croats. More to come hopefully and lots of deadwood out. Plus Sandro and Younis back!!

Feeling confident about the mighty Spurs next year.

So playing devils advocate for a second....you think we are doing most of our business now before we accept this mega bid with a load of dosh burning in our sky rocket?

But seriously, I doubt new signings would be talking about our ambition with reference to keeping our best players, and more importantly our manager - who said he's been told by Levy that Bale wont be sold.

So unless Bale is going to force a move that will leave Levy looking very stupid indeed.

Isn't that just common sense though? If you know that teams will be coming in with insane bids, you'd make plans in case one of them bids what you consider the a fee worth accepting, even if it's beyond insane.

Imho i think bale will stay.

But hey this world we live in is very cruel so anything can happen.

If it means them offering us lets say £50-60million plus Coentrao or Di Maria.

Use that money to buy Bernard and Soldado or Benteke. Also the wonderkids from Croatia.

Then to be absolutely honest with my fellow yids.

I would not mind that at all.

BUT i still think Gareth Bale will stay. :)

Unless we are talking about in excess of 100 million I don't think it will happen this summer.

Respect your view mate.

You may be right who knows but IMO it won't happen this year.

Peace.

More like....McManaman and Ricky Lambert on deadline day after weeks of negotiating! Levy banks the rest lol

Have you not learnt anything mate :)

Feel like Fryers was bought just to spite Fergie. Levy does seem like the vindictive type. Hopefully I am wrong though. :D
Luckily you are wrong.
Tim scouted and bought the player. He went against some advice from others to get him. Fryers wanted a big pay rise. Who leaves Man utd to come to spurs as a player? and Fergie knew all of that and made a scene in the press to get back at DL for the years prior on Carrick and Berbs, however he wasnt that sure that Fryers would make it.

Looks Like Modric,

Thank you. This thread was heading to an epic shit-fest and you came around and turned it around. Seriously Thank You.

And by trying to be nice and end things early with unwanted pleasantness (which is not my strong point), I at least got some karma.

And this is for you most of all Pascale......my son won all three races with record times and our swim team won by over 100 points in the first meet of summer. That shit's better than any signing :)

I echo the comments about Lookslikemodric.

Bale won't force a move.

Players aren't stupid (some are) and know how the football world works. They don't sign on the promise that Bale stays.

We have ambition and wan't Bale to stay.

The money spent isn't dependent on Bale going.

If a massive bid comes in Bale is gone.

Just wanted to give a different spin on things from the info I have heard. I'm not trying to cause a shit storm.

If we got Coentrao we could keep Siggy on the left and let the former use the space when the latter drifts inside.
