Everything points to hamster cheeks. Probably just the compensation packages to sort out. Having said that, if it is merely the compensation that's delaying it, you'd wonder why. We should be so adept at negotiating compensation packages by now that I'm surprised we don't hire ourselves out as specialist "hiring, firing and compensation" consultants,

Didn't know we were allowed to post twitter stuff in here...or is it because the source is JJ?

JJ and Gards are the exceptions. If I wanted to be really nasty I'd add, 'and there's this Neil Eatson bloke who's OK', but I'm not that cruel. Usually.

FdB says he has not met with Spurs this week
Either he knows he was rejected and is trying to distance himself to save face, or Levy has given him strict orders to not comment until he's announced as new manager. The former sounds a lot more likely to be honest.

i love the smell of itk in the morning :)

surprised though after all this time and uncertainty that we'd announce anything before the champs lge final, even if there is only a 1% chance ancellotti would become available. there's no reason I can see not to wait another day or two, apart from putting us lot out of our misery of course :woot:

absolutely

This is the point. Why are De Boer's camp saying he hasn't met, when we're under the impression they have?

Cos he ain't getting the job and he's distancing himself.

I've seen how this goes before. When we're doing something there's always days of suggestion and likelihood. It took forever to appoint AVB but we all knew about it weeks in advance & i'll bet my bottom dollar that when Levy make s a decision, he'll drip feed some info to the press to soften the impact.

Unless we've already put the feelers out and learned that Real won't be sacking him regardless and even if they did he wouldn't be interested in us.[/quote]

Also, why not just refuse to comment at all as opposed to denying it? (if the meeting took place)

FDB has a high profile, a great track record, is happy to develop youngsters and, from everything I've read, really wants the job. If Levy chooses Poch over FDB, I'm going to be a bit disappointed, but not inconsolable. It's not such a bad place to be for THFC. Makes a nice change.

This. I would prefer the latter. A shame imo, as I think Fdb would be the man to bring us more long term stability and the Ajax youth system is world renowned. Will get behind the new man whoever get's the gig! COYS!!

The thing is though, he is commenting by denying it took place. So I agree the former is more likely. Had he just made no comment at all I would stay your second point would be more possible.

Ultimately we may never know if FDB's camp are telling porkies, I wouldn't put it past Levy however to have been so enamoured by Poch when they met that he decided he was the one right there and then. One thing is for sure, it does feel that zero hour is fast approaching.

So long as the next announcement doesn't introduce David bar brawling Moyes as our next manager, I shall be content.

ok I was thinking it was FDB but now i'm not!

I hope we don't look back in a few years time and wonder what might have been had we gone down the FDB route

I just can't get why he is not number 1 choice

Of course we will......That is the Tottenham way.....But it will be 18 months and not a few years :D. Seriously I like Poch but I like FDB more. Reckon there is a twist in there somewhere....If Poch was alway's nailed on, it makes no sense to invite FDB into the reckoning.

Do you know if we are allowed to post tweets from the journalist Di Marzio (sp?) who was pretty much our best ITK last summer?

Don't think you are in here...if its something to do with FDB, for instance, post it in the FDB thread mate.
