If it is Poch, why do I have a horrible feeling in my stomach that this choice has been made on the basis that someone who can speak Spanish will turn our two most expensive signings into world class players again and enable us to recoup the club's pounds next summer.

I will support him and i truly hope the fans and Levy get behind him, but something in me just says meh about this appointment and await the swingdoor to open in a few months time. Hope I am wrong and he turns out to be the next Pep or Ferguson

I'm prepared for disappointment whoever gets the job. I find it saves time.

My nightmare scenario, as I replied to Hap the other day, is that the new manager pisses Ade off and fails to get Soldado scoring from open play.

pisses ade off?! Ade can piss off if he's gonna be a tw*t all over again. Manager is bigger than players. Team is bigger than both and pays wages. Do what manager says - or gtfo.

With 1 year remaining of Ade's contract and his iffy mindset would you not consider cashing in on him and bringing in a striker more commited/suited to our new manager?

As good as Ade was from Jan onwards I can't help feeling he is 1 mood swing away from going missing again....

Agree with that and my worry is that he didn't get the best out of ramirez and osvaldo at southampton so no guarantee that the argentinian/spanish connection will work with soldado/lamela.

Who's going to take him off our hands with the wages he's reportedly on? City won't continue to sub him, and we can't afford to.

If Ade gets the hump and Soldado continues to flop, we could be looking for a new manager come December. However, one hopes that Pock has more sense than The Bearded Wonder.

What gives me confidence is Pochettino handling of Southampton in his first season.
Southampton side he took midway in 2012/13 season, was not his team. Under Nigel Adkins they were struggling relegation candidates. But with just coaching he transformed Soton into a good playing outfit. Under Adkins, Soton players took 1.2 shots a game and by end of season, under Poch, they averaged 4 shots a game. That's a remarkable improvement, considering he didn't add much in Jan 2013.

This shows he doesn't need to build "his own" team and is comfortable in remolding a team. I believe we have a very capable squad to challenge for top4 (may just need some proper defensive reinforcements). All we need is a manager who can bring everyone together and make use of the squad.

AVB experimented with the squad & didn't know his best XI ;while Sherwood alienated senior pros.
We need manager to get the best out of the squad.

Pochettino's biggest challenge will be to convince players like Jan, Lloris, Paulinho to stay for one more season.

If he can do that, logic says we will have a far better season.

With Pochs strong tactical philosophy and requirement for players to work extra hard, I don't see Ade sticking around.

Certainly wasn't my first choice when we were discussing managers throughout the Sherwood reign (still makes me shudder btw..), but now I have definitely been sold the idea of Poch and his philosophy after reading up on him.

I'm generally positive about everything now, other than another season of Dawson in a high line, obviously.

Welcome to the madhouse Mauricio, good luck and get us firing. You have my full backing and COYS.

Did you watch Southampton this season?

Yeah, but means nothing with a different group of players and different expectations, but also they faded in a number of games, which concerns me a lot. As I say I am willing to give him a couple of years, not sure if other fans and Levy will be. I think what really concerns me is that we have gone from LVG to Poch who are completley different animals.

So with this sorted now, hopefully an announcement any minute and we can start thinking about what our squad will be next season.

Hopefully not too many changes!

With Poch coming I can't see Ade being prepared to put the work in.

Wonder if Batshuayi is his replacement? Would people be happy with say Soldado, Michy, Kane and JRod?

The one thing I don't think I can get used to with Poch... he doesn't jump around when his teams score :(
