Agree with that and my worry is that he didn't get the best out of ramirez and osvaldo at southampton so no guarantee that the argentinian/spanish connection will work with soldado/lamela.

Both are lazy players. Osvaldo is egoistic and Ramirez is flashy with no substance.

Players who have done well under Poch are the players, who are willing to work for the team. Soldado is a top pro, I cant see him flop under Poch. Lamela is unknown quantity.

In our strike force, I will tip Harry Kane to flourish under Poch. He could be our own Rodriguez. He works well for the team, shows tactical acumen. I just hope he gets the chance to play.

Yeah, but means nothing with a different group of players and different expectations, but also they faded in a number of games, which concerns me a lot. As I say I am willing to give him a couple of years, not sure if other fans and Levy will be. I think what really concerns me is that we have gone from LVG to Poch who are completley different animals.

We said same thing about Rodgers & Martizez a season before....

I was really responding too the idea that he has just been brought in too speak too lamela etc. The way saints played this season was impressive for me.

He doesn't need to be a miracle worker he just needs to get our squad performing too it's potential. The amount of stupid goals we conceded last season was ridiculous.

What are people going to do when it's revealed that Pochettino isn't a magician and can't turn Soldado into a world class PL striker?

Why would Atlanta Yid's "man" need to come all the way over here for the deal to happen?

Hopefully announcement today so that the club and Poch can get on with player recruitment

Poch needs to go on holiday and recharge his batteries for pre-season.

Player recruitment is Baldini's job and I'm sure is well under way (esp as this window's buzzword is quality, not quantity).

Wouldn't have been my first choice, but if he's the man, he has my full backing. I'm a little bit surprised that we've gone with a fairly inexperienced young manager again, but what do I know?
I know it's not the Levy way, but a period of stability would be a wonderful thing.

I hear Poch could get the gig, so if its sorted soon, what are we gonna talk about for the next 2 months

I cant see us signing too many players, our squad is bursting at the seams already

Does anyone know if Southampton faded late in games or failed to recover from any losing positions because I've not heard and I need a minor concern to hang my entrenched pessimism on?
Thanks.

You've obviously never signed an important financial document/contract. Such things do NOT get processed unless there's a man present, naked, with a 14inch tallywhacker, painted all over in edible gold, wearing spikey high heeled shoes with a mohican ponytail haircut dyed shocking pink. It's a specialist role.

Reading the posts on the Saints forum, it looks like a lot of their fans are pissed off with us for enticing Poch.

I wonder if they'll hire Sherwood as Poch's replacement to get their revenge. :cautious:

If it is Poch, why do I have a horrible feeling in my stomach that this choice has been made on the basis that someone who can speak Spanish will turn our two most expensive signings into world class players again and enable us to recoup the club's pounds next summer.

I will support him and i truly hope the fans and Levy get behind him, but something in me just says meh about this appointment and await the swingdoor to open in a few months time. Hope I am wrong and he turns out to be the next Pep or Ferguson

Well said GF

LVG was a complete no brainer. He was available, wanted to come to England and is a top tier manager. However, man utd were a bigger fish and we lost out. There is no one else of lvg's stature available so what are we supposed to do - hang around with a caretaker hoping that the stars align so we get another pop? I don't see how it could have worked out any differently in terms of the type of manager we are going for?
