Goat's ITK mentions contenders?

Contenders for what? Bankruptcy...

Still smells to me like a Bale sale cover up. Spend loads now with this "new found money" then last minute Bale sale with a "we had to balance the books" tagline.

Think this ITK is just about keeping price tags of players we want down before getting the Bale money.

There was ITK previously of us spending big, as well as £50m given to Levy to spend after Paulinho signed. Lewis and Levy want us to be contenders, we NEED Bale for that this season.

Absolutely this. This is all so out of character for Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis. They wouldn't change overnight.

Re the latest Goat's post:

I think Lewis has just had enough of all the Levy bashing from the past windows!!

Seriously though, I really do think that they (Levy and Lewis) feel AVB is the man to take the club forward and have trust in him

Happy days ahead!!...........................................I hope

We are definitely spending the Bale money but I think we are just doing it a season early. Invest hard now and then we should be set up for the next few seasons. Still don't expect Bale to go this summer.

Lets have one big push at the league whilst we have Bale.

Love to think it's true.

But then you have the whole keeping everyone happy thing.

I already think that will be tough in Midfield if as expected we get Kapoue.

I remember some ITK about Redknapp and Big Joe Lewis falling out big time.

As for the Goat's new ITK, it could be confirmation of the earlier American ITK that Lewis has provided a £50 million interest free loan, for which the collateral is effectively the future sale of Gareth Bale.

Bale is an asset worth, say £100 million, which secures Lewis' cash.

If we can buy players at market price now, then there is no distortion in the prices we're being quoted from our having banked any Bale transfer fee. This makes perfect financial sense.

And the kicker is that if we have a hugely successful 2013-14 with all our new players, and Bale decides to stay and play CL football for Spurs in 2014-15, then our increased revenues / TV money may fund a lot of that loan.

It's a Win - Win for us as Spurs fans.

We are Spurs, we will still lose. Some way, somehow, some why

In all seriousness though, if there ever was a time to go for it it is surely now. I think the title is up for grabs with all the upheaval at the other contenders, and if/when we do balls it up we have the safety net of 80m from selling Bale next summer to cover a large chunk of the outlay this year

No one moans about it when you win the league! But seriously look how many appearances Livermore, parker, Thudd and Caulker got last season. Plenty of games for all.

Maybe Levy has handed in his notice and this is going to be his last window in charge. Lewis has decided to reward him for all his good work by giving him £100 million to spend on deadline day only. I'd love to see his little face light up if that actually happened.

I love that Goat info!

JL is an old man now. If he truly is a Spurs fan, and we've had plenty of ITK in the past to confirm it, then he's not going to want to piss about for too much longer. He's obviously got faith in DL and AVB so why not push the button now and say "fuck the expense". Maybe he feels for a lot of reasons that next year is our best ever chance of winning the League. At the moment, we've still got Gareth Bale and the only way we're going to keep Gareth Bale is by showing ambition.

It's hard not to get excited about what might happen over the next three weeks, but I am going to start carrying around an emergency bottle of salt. Just in case. ;)

Try telling a player that when for the third league game in a row he's been an unused sub (or not even made the bench)

JJ would post himself to be honest.

But, I really want to believe The Goat and having seen us break our transfer record TWICE in one window, I think it might be safe to say it's true.

Am I thinking of someone else? but didn't JJ say he was not posting info anymore?

I think bale is leaving but how does 'green light to spend what we need to be contenders' keep prices down?

That's not a specific amount of cash.

Real buy Bale for £105m

then clubs we are dealing with know we have £105m + so add another £10m on to their valuation of players.

That's why we have a world class gaffer. I know what you are saying but anyone not happy of being part of our success can do one next season!

I can see why people are doubting the goats info but ask yourself this, did you think a month or so ago we would break our transfer record twice and spend over 50mil, don't speculate that its the bale money as we didnt spend the modric money so didnt have to spend it if he was so tightfisted
