Great marketing to be a selling club? Dare I say it, a feeder club with a "special relationship"?

Do you really think a feeder club would have been paid 85million pounds. I refrain from saying anymore. Stop Thinking like a chimp. Btw, it's not U specifically, but the whole chorus of beong screwed screamers...

Window was fantastic! Very talented squad bringing in 7 highly sougth after players, several for good value. We looked for more like coentrao, but they did not want to come to us, so rather than spunking out Money paying overinflated fees on option 3 and 4 we ended with a net profit which will be used Wisely for future development of the club, be it stadium, signings to strengthen in jan or other. Now, the Window is over, support the team!

I'm excited.
We have so much to look forward to.
So many options for various positions in the MF and up front.
Yes, the left side could use a bit more depth, but it's no biggie (we'll see how it goes and reinforce the left flank in the winter, if absolutely necessary).
I see no negatives, only positives from here on. Granted we must gel and become a cohesive team (hopefully sooner, rather than later), but with a little patience and proper support we'll get there eventually.
It's so interesting to try and piece the various lineups together now (i.e. we can play Eriksen as a #10 in a 4-2-3-1, or start him as an LWF in a 4-3-3, with Chadli as backup and Lamela in an RWF...and so and so forth). There are so many tactical possibilities re: everyone's integration into the offensive schemes, etc.
This is where all the fun begins. Personally, I can't wait to see how AVB will utilise our young troops on the weekly basis!

Interesting that Adebayor never moved on. Suspect it was more to do with nobody being prepared to stump up the cash then us being keen to hold onto him.

If we can get his head straight though, he's still a huge asset.

Don't let Sandro hear you say that. Think he'd be plunged into a depression if Gomes ever left.

Morning,

Firstly thanks to the MODS and all those ITK related, your hard work is most appreciated.

Secondly, we had a great window. 0 net spend, 7 exciting new signings. Significant improvements to the team. Much more than we could have expected/asked for. The moaning should be minimal and its nice to see that this thread has started out this way although in a few hours it will likely digress which is a shame.

Heads high fellow Spurs fans....time to get behind our team!

A couple of questions for some perspective before the bile fest starts:

What team in the world could have kept their best player from Real Madrid? Man U couldn't with Ronaldo and whilst I can't be arsed to check I bet Man U didn't do the sort of business we have after he was sold.

Who, hand on heart, didn't take a sharp breath and mutter an expletive around 3 months ago when the figures of 80m, 90m and 100m started being banded around? After 1 truly consistent standout season from Bale was the expected figure more like 40m - 50m?

We did a truly incredible job on Madrid and I think the scale of the fee and the players linked after led to a little loss of perspective. In the end we did incredible business in so many areas. We could have just gone out and spent a fortune on a direct replacement for Bale (we did with Lamela) but we also did so much more than that.

Other than the left back situation, this has been the best window I've ever seen. Chirches looks promising, Capoue has made an instant impact, Paulinho is a very good addition to the midfield, Eriksen is going to be great and is the playmaker we needed, Chadli is a solid winger especially for the price, Lamela is just like Eriksen in that he's going to be amazing and I can't believe that we got him and Soldado is the goalscorer that we have needed for so long. A fucking great window from Levy and Baldini, now it's time for AVB to work his magic.

I won't post the video in here, but I'll need a few of these to get through the international break:

The only downer of the window for me is our partnership with RM, we sell them Bale and they fund it by selling Ozil to our rivals and then to top it off it apoears as though FC has gone on loan to man utd. Other than that business was great.

I'm sorry but what? Do you expect that we get to dictate who RM does their deals with just because we are "partners"? We probably got first refusal on FC but he probably didn't want to join us.

Was watching the ttransfer window on Norwegian tv yesterday. One hour after the window had closed they all had their transfer window winner announced. Everyone agreed that Tottenham were clear winners. Having gone about their business in the utmost professional way. Securing players with huge potential for prices that make everyone else just guess how the hell we are doing it.

Very worried about left back, we have gone from potentially bae and coentrao to rose. Can we recall bae?

No not at all, I just thought that the partnership might have benefitted us in some way by now.

Very happy with the players brought in and feel there was little we could do about the bale situation but with zero net spend i do feel the whole 50m loan was a bit of a line to kid people we werent spending the bale cash.
That quite a few years now without spending much mire than we bring in. Hope the money is going to the new stadium as i feel this could start holding us back soon

i anticipate the productivity in the country to go up by at least 20% today as we all get our lives back ;) how many days until january.....?

wonderful rollercoaster of a window, some fabulous players that must have taken incredible efforts without champions league to get them to sign for us. massive hats-off to avb, baldini and levy, a properly worked out and executed window as opposed to the knee-jerk mess we sometimes get, improving strength in depth whilst probably lowering the wage bill is incredible.

a bit late obviously but cannot thank the guys behind this site enough. i've lived on here almost exclusively the past few months and it's just been amazing. a big thank you to the gang and all the mods, the occasional bludgeoning of the back passage is a small price to pay ;)
