love jasper's latest. the final day is rubbish without a levy hail mary million to one shot. if the wages and outgoings are all sorted by then i'd love to think he'd try another wheelbarrow.
There is something rather magical about those last few hours before the window shuts when you think to yourself, can he do it again? ;)

Lennon was never the same player after the South African World Cup. HE took a lot of stick in the press at the time which I thought was largely unfair as Glen Johnson had about 4 different players play in the midfield birth infront of him and he made them all look garbage.

He never really terrified defenders quite the same way after that.

He's had an awful time with England - being overlooked for the likes of Walcott when Lennon at the time was by far the better and more productive player, being overlooked by managers when on extremely good form, and then when getting picked, being lined up in front of idiots like Johnson who constantly moved into the space Lennon would occupy and effectively nullifying his threat.

I expect he's pretty bitter about the way his career's turned out with particular frustration at the England aspect.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Ahhh the old Levy deadline day myth. Love Levy but apart from VDV who was a truly epic signing it has never happened again.

sweet holy moly, why all these fixation with player cost, budget and fees. Occasionally its ok digest but not daily.

lets worry about if player x fits us and let levy do the costing. Eventually levy will get the money back through shirt sales or tickets.

JM, would he fit us at 10m or 20m. Don't care #levyjustgetourcabbagenow

Berbatov was about nine oclock on the last day and the bomb shell attached to that inevitable distrsssing news he had finally gone, was Fraser Fucking-Campbell coming the other way FOR A SEASON!!!! *rant over

still reckon the wheelbarrow day where he supposedly went after llorente, aguero, etc was one of the best transfer deadline days ever. great times even though ultimately we ended up with nowt.

I like the thought of Bolasie.

He's got everything our current squad lacks - Unpredictability, Tenacity and fearless running at full speed with the ball.

He hassles defenders off the ball a lot.

I'd take Bolasie at 20m (although I think Palace will deal at less than that) over Moses at £8m all day.

Fully agree with this. Personally I have no issue with the fee, just whether the player has been identified to fit and improve the team. If that player is deemed too expensive so be it, better off with that player than a lesser alternative. You get no points for a strong balance sheet.

If we end up paying £40m for McCarthy and Berahino it's no skin off my nose, we'd have paid it because we believe they will improve the team. We seem to be a lot more focused on targets these days should have more success than we did with the Bale money.

He also lacks end product and at 26 this is probably as good as he's gonna get as a winger. We could spend £20 mil better elsewhere.

How is this spam? @flamsteadspur - you need to get outside. Let the mods moderate the thread, there's no place on this forum for your brand of vigilante justice. Wrong-doers will be apprehended, by @Archibald&Crooks and the other mods.

Personally (as per the ITK @flamsteadspur you trigger-happy sob), I'd be quite sad to see Lennon go, he's been here for ages and was one of my favourite players in his first few years with us, but if he's a disruptive influence we have to get rid - especially when he hasn't offered much on the pitch for us lately.

Never really seen Kramer conscious on a football pitch so don't know if he's any good, Werner looks good from the little I've seen - he seems the more realistic of the two.

He's spamming almost every poster. It could be a second account opened by @Spurger King ..............:wideyed:

Its not all about pace though as lennon used to be jet heeled but would often struggle with end product.
We do need pace in the team but it must be mixed together with intelligence in our play.

The inflated market applies to everyone. There's not a shot in hell we're getting Beharino for 15 million or under.

He's young, English and has bags of talent. I'm not saying we should be held to ransom either but we have to be realistic as well.

You know MP i'm learning something from you in every post you make............

McCarthy, Beharino and Werner.

I think that's the best we can realistically hope for. I'd certainly be delighted with that.
