Oscar... Brazils NO.10 went for 20m and was tied up in about 3 days. If we want Leandro we could get him.

True, but then it's a lot easier to land a player in 3 days when you can afford to pay most of the transfer fee upfront and give the player massive wages.

if its true about Huntelaar having a £15m release clause then i would suggest that is the place to be spending money instead of forever chasing LD, who will never come, and if he did could take time to settle

JKH i feel would is ready made for PL

ok he recently signed a new deal suggesting he is happy.......but then again why have a release clause like tha tif you are not keeping your options open???

Gomes, sandro, ramieres, oscar, santos, cesar... theres a brazilian mafia forming in London so scocially he won't struggle. Playing wise? there's a risk moving from everton to Spurs as Pinenaar found out or Liverpool from Newcastle as the pikey found out so not sure anyone should bother with "settling" as a caveat against signing a cheque.

So Ades off then, can anyone remember the last transfer window when a striker hasn't been our top priority? I honestly can't... Wasn't Jol in charge?!?!

At one time we had to sell Defoe because there was no space for him. Seems incredible now. And it was the Jol era.

WE can afford. we might not chose to but we can so its still in our control. Its still irrelvant what an agent or media outlet quotes or guesses

I'm not entirely sure using a picture of MJ is wholly appropriate when conversing about youth players...

It'd be interesting to know how many of Pritchard's next gen contemporaries have had game time for their respective clubs

Players that are both registered for Nextgen, and have made at least 1 appearance for their clubs...

Arsenal: Afobe, Eisfeld, Gnabry, Aneke, Yennaris.
Chelsea: Piazon, Chalobah.
Aston Villa: None.
Liverpool: Sterling, Wisdom.
City: Rekik, Suarez, Lopes.
Spurs: Kane.

Why do we not move on. The Inter president is a bellend. Damiao's agent is a bellend. Damiao does not appear to be pushing to move, so why don't we stop. It has gone on for 2 years? If we were serious we would just go out and do the business.

Most of their 'kids' are 21, 22, 23. Think you have to be under-19 at the start of the season to play in the Nextgen.

Can't believe Harry Kane is still only 19 (Not 20 until July). Can't believe some Spurs fans have already written him off.

Well I have just trawled through a few wikipedia pages on the acadamy squad and the only mention on length of contract signed was Dean Parrett. He signed a three year contract in August 2010. That is the only info on acadamy contracts that I found there.

On a side note, Jon Obika is the cousin of Lemar the singer!

Also, Massimo Luongo has a very interesting national heritage. He has an Italian father, an Indonesian mother and was born in Oz. So he has options as to his international carreer.

Looking at the youngsters in the 1st team squad (according to wikipedia), in July 2012 Ryan Mason signed a two year contract. In December 2011 Andros Townsend signed a contract that takes him to the end of the season ending 2016.

So this whole thing about Alex Pritchard only having a one year deal. Well. Draw your own conclusions from what I have found out.

I think it would be a shame to see him go personally but we have to trust the managment. From what I have seen/heard etc, he has potential. He and the other acadamy boys are doing really well at the moment so I thought that maybe keeping them together as a team would bode well for the 1st teams future.

I think we should take a closer look on the Georgian player Rati Tsinamdzgvrishvili.

Dont know if he's any good, but i would love his name on my shirt.

you know none of this really counts as itk, if you got it from wiki.

Interesting...I thought his contract was running out in the summer and was certain he'd be off. Glad to hear it if he has another year left.

Pritchard leaving would be a blow. IMHO he's the best prospect we've had in many years. He reminds me of Eden Hazard at a similar age; not quite as good but a little bit bigger physically. Hazard needed time to grow (which luckily he did) but I doubt if he would have developed as well playing in the premiership. One visit to Stoke and he'd have been in traction for a year.

Pritchard though undoubtedly talented is still just potential. He also needs to grow a bit in order to play regularly at Premiership level. I'd quite like to see him loaned abroad to a less physical league than he'll get in England. The problem is he might never be physically strong enough for the premiership and by that I mean he could spend most of his career in the treatment room.

Much as I like him you cannot seriously compare (as BC did) him signing a contract with Leandro signing for Spurs. One is a Brazilian international in a position we desperately need to strengthen whereas the other is yet to play for our 1st team and we have just signed up Holtby, a player in the same position (not to mention Gylfi and Dempsey).

I remember JJ mentioned Jovetic as being on a list of players we were looking last summer, but that he wasn't first choice. That was before AVB became our manager. One would think Jovetic would be a player that AVB would rate. We have to start looking at other attackers like this, if we haven't already.

Never claimed it was, I clearly state at the begginging that, 'I have just trawled through a few wikipedia pages'. Just putting the info out there to stimulate conversation. :)
