Or if you're a big BAE fan (and he's top 5 for me all time), it means we have said "hands off" :cautious:;)
Think we just simply said 'LOL' to any offers ;)

As for word of the day: Ninetyfive, the age Damiao reaches before he signs for us.

I agree with most of what you say with the exception of who is being damaged by this media circus. I think the club's stance is exactly what it should be. Last two seasons we came out with statements regarding Modric not being for sale and the media played on them and the fact we had "rentaquote" as manager. The public statement didnt stop the frenzy, in actual fact it made it worse.
This time we hold all the cards and those cards are being kept close to our chest. We wont comment and we won't set a price publicly. We won't slam the tactics used by Real and we won't admit defeat. If we know what we're doing that is good enough for me.

What this debacle is showing is the full array of tricks and underhand methods that Real are willing to use to get a player and it is that which is starting to leave a sour taste in the mouth of the common football fan, of their own fans and hopefully in UEFAs too. Real were my second team but this ks leaving me decidedly disappointed in their actions and I'm not the only one who feels that way.

ok i take that on board completely. So does the lack of the new deal signed by Bale underline that if he has the option he would like to go. Lets presume he believes all the 'this could be the only chance' crap and presume his agents is pushing for the move. And of so that leaves the question......do we want to make him stay if he does not want to be at the Lane?

indeed you are right. The only real confirmation that Madrid are even trying is Ancellotti confirming talks. Quite what talks mean is anyones guess. 'Can we buy Bale?'........'No...fuck off'.........they are talks.

I respect and agree with the clubs stance that we don't comment on media speculation. However sometimes there has to be exceptions and i think this is one. Lets be honest if Bale stays he is likely to be signing an improved deal to do so. That should have happened now if it was clear cut he is staying.........it clearly is in the balance. And i think this circus is damaging the club and someone needs to make the position a bit clearer
I agree and it seems sky sports is obsessed with the whole thing I've never seen anything like itv the way they're twisting everything is a joke too all based on speculation/hype there isn't a person they're not asking neither even caulker and luango After theye just moved clubs were being asked about it instead of their own moves, not to me to mention the fact it over shadowed the fact we'd twice smashed out record which would normally have us dancing in the streets and the thing wee been asking/praying for years, needs to w soles soon as its gonna blatantly ruin the start of our season if it continues. The only good thing is la liga starts same day as ours so Madrid will want it done too if it is the case

Ghostofarmo on FTL. (Don't think he's keen on it getting to twitter)

he's 100% going..

stop crossing fingers and legs and god knows what else..

I'm actually excited by who we've brought in and who we
are still going for..the romanian..the boy at roma etc..

some side we'll have..

Imagine this new squad if we get champs league and next summer transfer window..

really going places..without the bale price tag these signings would not have happened

Without Bale leaving we also have almost no need for these players either, but hey...

Nope, as with incoming transfers, I refuse to believe it until it's official.

I agree it's 100% certain he'll leave, question is whether it's this window or the next.

I didn't know Ghostofarmo was the Scout so his info has more credence now to me.

I still believe Bale is off as well but I'm genuinely excited about this season with or without Bale in our side.

Well is Bale on his own more useful to us than 2/3 new players? That's something we probably won't know the answer to until the end of the season.

I disagree with selling him purely because it makes us look weak, but it seems inevitable now.

I really want to put things in to people perspective for those people that seem to flood these threads with Bale "will he won't he" posts.

To date we have had no, that is zero, quotes or confirmations from the club or Bale of a bid, of talks or of contact. Thus so far the entire media circus is a complete fabrication. Lets not allow this thread to descend into a hundred pages of assumptions and guess work.

My tuppence worth is that we seem to have a strong team capable of challenging for top 3 as it stands, we won't be signing a ball player for the midfield but more so for the back line which is possibly why we're interested in vlad to suit AVBs tactics.

The "will he...won't he" debate has sprung up because some ITK's are saying "he will" and others are saying "he won't".

We lose a bit of magic with him gone, but 2/3 players in his place, if the right players, do more for the squad as a whole.

And it has to be remembered that the reason he was so incredible for us last season is because his spectacular solo efforts won us a lot of points. With a striker who can score goals, and hopefully a few more goals coming from our other signings, we shouldn't be relying on individual moments of brilliance to rescue us next season.

As said before, I'll be sad to see him go, but the future should be bright without him, especially if Ghostofarmo is correct about others coming in. I honestly believe that if we keep Bale, after last season we might be a bit underwhelmed with him next season. Purely because he won't be rescuing us single-handedly every game, as we hopefully won't need him to.

A&C requested this not be a thread of chit chat, it's 9am and there's ITK. How hard is it to discuss that?

Should that go in the RO? I assume not of he doesn't want it getting to Twatter.
