Yes, but the point still stands.
If one of those teams bids 150 million (say), then Daniel can turn to RM and say, "Sorry, your 105 million is not enough". Then, either ...... ....you can imagine the other scenarios for yourselves.
and they say to us fine, sell him there, he doesn't want to go there, and then he goes to madrid for 105 million.

One thougt, if Bale was on the market why wouldn't we invite PSG, Monaco, City, Chelsea etc to a bidding war?
It is very odd that there is only one bidder in the market.
Because it is a huge, salty sack of stewed bollocks.
We are not trying to sell him.
MARCA needed a story to run with through the summer and Perez has just been elected and wants to get the fans on side - they do this every year and it is fucking disgusting.

I think, before accepting any bid, we should go out to the open market and say he is available (if he is definitely off) - if Real are the best club for him, he can go there. If it is just that they are flattering him into thinking he needs to leave, fuck 'em.
And if this is all being pushed by his agent, I will tattoo the word aunt on his forehead and then stab him in the eye so it says ****.

Surprised at this. You're often seem to have issue with any kind of political incorrectness on this forum, yet you'd be happy to see us sign a racist player?

I don't think we know or can say he's a racist. Did he say something racist; yup. Does that make someone a racist? That's for another thread presumably.

We chant YID, and some people find that offensive. Are we all racists?

Jesus Christ man. It's obviously because we have a very special relationship with them. We are like brothers

They are the older brother taking anything nice the younger one has for nothing but a dead arm/leg....

I would absolutely love Luis Suarez in a Lilywhite shirt. There is no better player who would even consider moving here.

Everybody is welcome to an opinion now while everything is in the air, but if he turns out to be Bale's replacement, I hope all you doomsayers will back him to the moon. You say he's a racist, diving cheat; however he has never been racist, never dived and never cheated in the colours of Tottenham Hotspur.

If our fans don't give every new player a chance then I don't want to be associated with them.

Can I just say that anyone who used to chant the Adebayor song at WHL before he joined us has no rights calling Suarez a racist. And there must be some of you on here, because I used to hear the whole of the Park Lane doing it...

Why are we talking about Suarez. I've looked at the RO and I've searched LLM and he hasn't mentioned him. So why is this happening?
Goat post plus Rob repped someone

'We've shown interest in potentially spending some of the Bale money on a striker, but it'd substantially eat into any funds we might have.'

It was pointed out that since the post contained the word 'eat' and Suarez is well known for his cookery skills (he does mean enchiladas apparently) that it must mean him. Geddit?

Edit: Oh and Ryantegan made up some shit the other day and it appears to have spiralled.

For me I think it's important we remove all the emotive stuff from this and think about what's best for the club.

If you think in terms of recent press reports, IF Gareth goes to Madrid, Suarez will end up at either Arsenal or Spurs. The club he ends up at will, IMO, be the one which gets into the Champions League at the end of the season. He IS a game-changer and he is worth a league position or two.

He's also a ready-made replacement for Gareth in many ways - I can't think of anyone else available who would function better on the left of a 4-3-3 up front with Ade/R9 and Chadli/Lennon?

Sure his past makes him not ideal, to say the least, but we have to put that to bed and be ruthless. Gone are the days where we're fine to be seen as the nice guys - it's time for Spurs to be ruthless and start thinking about top 3. The Suarezes of the world are exactly the kinds of players we need to get us there. Solid,l and supremely talented, even if their temperament sometimes isn't becoming of what we want in a Spurs player.

United wouldn't have been what they were in the 90s without the odd Roy Keane and Eric Cantona. Arsenal wouldn't have been the force they were 10 years ago without players like Vieira.

Suarez is a twat, but I can't help feeling that's what we need. We've taken gambles before on Gallas and Adebayor - perhaps it's time for a gamble with a little more bite, so to speak?

I can not put into words how disappointed i would be in THFC if we bought Suarez.
His approach to football is the antithesis of the Tottenham way. The game is about glory.
I won't support him.

Come on. He would win you over in 1 game.
I don't like what he has done either, but I do love the way he plays, hassles defenders and his sheer desire to win.

It doesn't matter anyway cause we got no chance of buying him

So under that logic we only have to back him until he is racist, dives or cheats in a spurs shirt.

I give it 1 game before he does any of these. He won't change who he is or how he plays just because he puts a different shirt on

I guess Gary Glitter could watch your kids for the evening too, whilst you & the missus go out for a nice meal? He's never touched any kids under your roof, I'm sure it'd be fine & you'd fully support your decision to choose him as your babysitter?

Suarez won't be joining us because
  1. It takes ages for Levy to make a bid for a striker, and when he does it's only about enough to buy his boot lace
  2. He's bad for team spirit, who wants to have a racist in the dressing room? I'd lose faith in the club if they sanctioned a move like that.
  3. Suarez will be looking for C.L football, sorry folks I love the club but we've only been in the CL once in our history, we can't guarantee him
I think it's pretty shameful that people don't care that we buy a racist and just care about winning.
