People are forgetting that we were chasing Berahino when Lamela was leaving.

Now Lamela has had a storming 6 months, playing at a level Berahino will never, things have changed.
Never will? Well Lamela won't get 20 goals in a season either

Fine, but that's completely not the actual full set of facts ... and I expect will be a myth perpetuated by you (and others).

Consider why he'd still be on the bloody bench if he was such a trouble-maker. From our own circumstances, when Modric and Bale kicked up a stink they were far far away from the team. Certainly not on the bench (and playing).

Why do you think he's on the bench?

I think it's obvious mate. In my opinion, he's literally only there (on the bench) so that Peace can show the world that he's the boss.

If Berahino wasn't on the bench for all the cameras & reporters to see, then the chances are nobody would say a single bloody thing about him. I think it's blindingly obvious that Berahino isn't on the bench because he could be of use during games.

No different to when Adebayor was exiled. We had a week or two of small stories about him training with the reserves, and then he was pretty much forgotten about.

Could it be that Pulis has him on the bench because he doesn't consider him good enough to lead the line?

Oh of course, that's obviously another possibility, and one I have no right to dismiss. If that is the case, I agree with Pulis. I'd believe, and do believe the same if he does end up being a Tottenham player. However, Pochettino knows much more about the game and the player than I do, and if Poch believes Berahino is the answer to our obvious striker shortage, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it.

If he comes, good bloody luck to the lad.

Did you 'get' the Alderweirld love in or the Alli love in during the summer? And i bet you (like me) thougt that anyone raving about how we had to hold on to Dembele and Lamela at any cost over that window were nutters.

Yet here we are 6 months later with the first two players above being potential MVPs this year and the second two also being as likely for that.

In Poch and his team we trust, if he thinks Berahino is the one then i am happy to trust his judgement this time round.

Amen to that.

Its got nothing to do with his ability tbh, hes better than Lambert and Rondon
He's miles better than both. Not if he's in terrible condition and not putting much effort in though. I think he will be brilliant for us. He's desperate to come here, Poch will get him working his Arse off and improve him no end. Attitude of the team will run off on him and he can enjoy his football. Never seen such an over reaction to a 22 kid who's just learning life

Both Modric and Bale's situation was for a very short period of time....Bale pre-season and Modric til 1st Sept. Hardly comparable.

I trust Pochettino to coach players. Doesn't mean I trust him to spend 20-30m of the clubs money. He cost Southampton 15m plus another 6 or so in wages on Danny Osvaldo. And I'm pretty sure Fazio (what 8-9m plus wages) was his call as well.

I think Fazio was a panick signing, it's hard to know who's chooses players at clubs with so many people involved. poch does not talk much so we won't know really who choice Danny or Fazio.

I don't think any signings last season were Poch's choice. Fazio only played 2 league game before Kaboul was dropped for the incident after Stoke and I think that was only because Dier had to play RB.

Bale's situation was for the entire summer transfer window. Pretty much three months. Modric's was shorter but it doesn't make it "hardly comparable". Instead of "hardly" I'd say "actually" or "very".

Patronising git ;) That's my job.

No it was posted in the berahino thread. Not here.
So it was the Internet equivalent of a guy in a pub saying it. That and Pulis's none specific little hints are all we are going on?

Agreed, and if there are any lingering attitude problems I think it's safe to believe Poch's army-style discipline and the peer pressure of being surrounded by so many young, England internationals would keep him in line.
