I was watching a piece on BT Sport where Michael Owen criticised Pulis' training methods claiming it was very boring and all that Pulis focussed on was the starting 11 all week. Players literally knew they were starting sometimes 6 days in advance.

Can you imagine how motivated everyone else is for the rest of the week?

And how does MO know this?

I doubt it is as demotivating as you seem to assume.

If Pulis was consistent about that, then as a player I'd be training hard everyday that I was not a starter hoping to make the bench, and then make the starting team the next week.

It would be hard to do that though, if you knew the manager didn't really want you there.

I think thats the crux of it. Little to do with training methods and more to do with the manager happy to let the player go and Berahino wanting to play at a bigger club (whilst getting paid more to do it).

Gotta wonder if some of this bad press is either Pulis ensuring Peace gets the message and he gets to swap a player he doesn't particularly want for his style of football in favour of a player he does want, or is it just designed to allow Peace to come out of this as a poor unfortunate victim, now that Spurs have 'turned' Berahino's head, and made the position untenable (see Berbatov to Utd)... One thing is for certain, I can't see Levy offering the same sum of money as he did last summer.

Just to clarify, are people saying 'Pewliss' or 'Pooliss' when they write 'Pulis'? Or is it something else completely?

Can we get some ITK on this pls?

I think it is 'Poolis' as he was poop for a lot of his management career particularly with his reliance on the 'defend with 9 men' and 'play the long ball' methodology. I mean for a long time I thought he and Big Sam had been separated at birth FFS.

Kane looked knackered on Sunday. We need a replacement. This lad has a lot of promise. Why are we f*cking around?

How many posts have addressed SB's attitude in the last 6 months? If Poch wants him, then that's good enough for me. Hasn't it been said that Mitchell's approach is more psychoanalysis than Moneyball. I think I'd heard at one point that they take Facebook profiles into account. If he's still on our radar, I'd guess we've done our homework.

And while I don't think any fan ever approves of a player being disgruntled and falling out with the manager, it's not like players have a bad attitude and then they're forever cursed. I can think of dozens of players off the top of my head that have been a bit sour and didn't get sent to League 2 as punishment. Hell, we were all disappointed in Vertonghen's attitude a year ago. Now he's back and one of the first names on the team sheet.

In short, I don't care if a player that Poch wants is crying about a shit situation in the midlands.

It doesnt matter when it happened. You dont fight teammates or call them shit and say i cant wait to get out of here directly after a game. Berahino probably isnt a violent thug but you have to admit that there is problems with him. We finally got rid of our own headcases this past summer. Why do we want to sign another clubs headcase now when we are finally looking unified and playing for one?

Was it Kane who fought Adebayor at Stoke?
