I doubt we will be bringing in any players just yet. If at all.
Very quiet and 3 weeks to go, so we will see what happens.
Depends on our injury list too obviously and players returning.
Maybe a few loans.
Are we talking loans in or out?

This window there are three areas of concern....
2) When Defoe goes...it would be the idea chance to bring in a young (not too young) striker to be slowly integrated into the team so he's ready for next season and can be used as an impact sub (Europa starter maybe) this year.

Fixed it for you;)

Defoe is definitely off, IMO. Alot of paper talk today saying its very close.

Only a left back in for me. Loan or perm. Come through most busy phase of the season now. Should have a few back from injury this week so squad will look strong again soon.

I'm not surprised we are not looking to add any more new players to the squad. 7 in, and 2 returning from loans last summer is a big job to turn those players in to a team. Remember, it's nice to buy players which look good on paper, but u don't win games on paper. Tim has a good squad, he just has to turn them in to a good team. In saying all that, I think if we do add to what we've got a left back should be high on the list... Recall BAE?

Can't see BAE playing for us again. I'd imagine that is the only position they might look to strengthen via a loan. I'd say if Lescott was possible then that would be the likely solution.

I'd be dissappointed if we don't bring a centrehalf in, we only need one more injury and we would be fucked, Capoue might be able to cover their but i don't think it would be good for us.

This has always been very obvious to me .

- Temporary manager (in all but words)
- 7 players still settling in from last summer
- No funds unless we sell
- Nothing really left to play for this season (5th or 7th is just the same)

Basically everything is on hold now till the summer. Using the Defoe money on a Baldini teenager or two is the most I'm expecting.

Come on, 5th-7th?

I'm certainly more pessimistic now than I was at the start of the season (and even then I knew getting 4th would be hard as always) but we're still in with a good shout.

We had the quality to get 3rd this season, but now we don't have the leadership or nous.

Fighting Everton for 5th or 6th is realistically our remaining battle.

Think it's going to be the same for a lot of teams

The January window is shrinking every year - now only the incredibly desperate do any business at extremely bad value. It's become the Wonga Window.

I can't see it being around much longer tbh.

We're 2 points behind 'FANTASTIC SEASON' Liverpool. Stop being so pessimistic.

The excitement of the Jan window is dying out. Teams have worked out that it's wise to keep your powder dry, unless there are obvious gaping deficiencies with your squad. West Ham might do some business, possibly Palace but don't think any bigger club will do. Certainly won't be any big money moves.
I very much doubt we will, loans or otherwise.
