Think the key with AVB is to put the right #2 alongside him. Someone smart enough to get him, but cuddly enough to be good cop to the players. Wilkins would be ideal IMO.

Players who will IMO thrive under AVB: Walker, Kaboul, (Verts), BAE, Sandro, Modric, Bale, Rafa, (Ade)

Players who might struggle under him: Lennon, Huddlestone, Dawson, Friedel (first two attitude, the second two because of their pace).

Also think Gallas and Parker could be the entrenched players who end up being marginalised.

Interesting article on Blanc.
http://www.goal.com/en-ie/news/3920...llow-fabio-capello-why-laurent-blancs-time-as
It mentions that he wanted his contract sorted by march as this is when most clubs recruit their managers for the following season. Has fallen out with FFF and is leaving France.
I believe Levy got Harrys successor ready a few months ago (March) and sacked harry as he wants the guy he organised when harry was supposed to go to England.
I am not sure whether we will get AVB or Blanc but I think it will be one of them.

Not sure about Huddlestone but agree with the rest. Tim Sherwood for Number 2 under AVB could be a good (albeit completely hypothetical) shout.

If somebody calling themselves an ITK said that Colonel Gaddafi was going to be our next manager, posted a picture of him at a UK airport and then 5 or 6 people on here put a bet on him, within an hour or two he would be the favourite. Which would be amazing, as he is dead. I think. And not even a football manager. In fact, I would question why any betting site had him as an option, which just goes to show you how crazy all these betting sites are. Point proven.

Is Lennon's attitude that bad? On the pitch I think he does well enough tracking back and imo his footballing brain has improved in the last year and he looks more than just a kick and rush player.

Well, if it is AVB, he's very young and has a lot of plus points - including actually winning stuff n stuff. He is very young and will make mistakes with us if he's the guy. Can't help but wonder if his biggies, his potentially career-defining ones were already made at chelsea. He'll have learned what not to do in those 6 months and those are often the more valuable lessons.

You guys do realise the odds are being slashed because you're all lumping money on it happening? That's how betting works.

Yes, hence JJ's silence this evening. He's just biding his time watching everyone lump on AVB, whilst the real target gets longer. Then he'll strike and dump all his compensation spare cash on PEP!

Time for bed I think. Far too many conspiracies on hear lately :sneaky:

I would be happy with AVB. The only problem he had at Chelsea is the fact that you can't polish a turd, let alone 24 of them.

I say 24 because I didn't include Sturridge. I think AVB should bring him in for that wide attacker role.
