Not even English but can't help but feel a bit of a tearjerker here. What incredible and utter pride-inducing photos, these.

thought carrick made all the difference has so much class. and if barkely could ever pick his head up england could have 2 or 3 more. spurs lads were obviously all class and that celebration after the townsend goal has to be my new favourite moment this season made me have an out of body experience, knew it was special right away.

why dont we play andros from the left, the guys is two footed, can cut in and score, and can cross naturally. just dont get it. not saying he will be the bollox, but would like to see him there instead of chadli on occasion.

thought kane was solid enough. did nothing spectacular, but also didnt let the team down once, so solid. 4 tottenham boys on the pitch at the end. Im sure someone has mentioned that stat earlier, but when was the last time we had that many? and did it include jenas,,,,,,,

Good player.

100% this.
Its a NO brainer to try him on the left......why can't the manager see that?
Especially now that we have Harry up front who knows how to play with him and who is really good in the air.

Delph and Henderson pissed me off so much tonight, it was sideways pass after sideways pass after sideways pass. Kane was in great positions all game long but until Carrick came on, no-one wanted to make a forward pass.

I think it's hard, and understandably so, for Poch to displace Chadli since he contributes with goals. We have a paradigm between Chadli and our other two wingers: Chadli scores goals but contributes fuck all in other areas, while our other two wingers don't score goals but do contribute in other areas. But I agree, I'd like to try Townsend on on the left to introduce a bit of stretch for Lamela on the other.

I enjoyed watching the 4-4-2 diamond tonight, and our boys in it. It's not appropriate for every game but lovely to see two strikers with an AM willing to run at the opposition behind them.

Wish we could play a system which allowed us to have more presence in the box and up front in general. Kane looks good with a competent strike partner.

Barkley is still only 21, needs to be cut some slack IMO.
Barkley should be cut some slack but for a guy who hasn't been starting for Everton, he shouldn't be in the england squad. He needs to be given time to help break in to the squad

How did Mason play?

He got the tackle/pass to Townsend for the assist but didn't get too involved, when he did get the ball he rarely have it away though. Decent debut.

Carrick was superb though, one moment in the first half summed him up for me though, ball came into him in a congested area and without having little time to think about it he plays an instant first time pass round the corner with his left foot straight to Rooneys feet. Not many players in the England team can do that.

Always been class, criminally undercapped due to this countries obsession with Lampard/Gerrard combo.

Commentator said at one point that apparently since making his international debut 14 years ago Carrick has never started four consecutive games for England. That's a disgraceful stat, almost on a par with Emile Heskey having more caps than Hoddle.

I'm thinking 2004 when we did a tour of the states, Soul Campbell was Captain, I can't remember if we'd just purchased Jenas or not, but I remember Jenas and Carrick were the CM pairing.

I would guess, around that time, our four would have been Robbo, Carrick, Jenas, King. You could potentially add Lennon in there at some point.

The only other time that we potentially had four was the Brasil friendly were Hudd made his debut. I think Livermore, Hudd, Dawson and maybe Lennon/Walker could have played.

Don't forget though he was at UTD with Fergie in charge so it's possible that he was "injured" a lot :bag:

We might not win the league, but could we yet win the World Cup in 2018? :cautious:

2020 Euro's:

Voss (23)

KWP (23) - Dier (26) - CCV (22) - Rose (30)

Onomah (23) - Mason (29)

Townsend (29) - Pritchard (27) - Georgiou* (23)

Kane (26)

* Is he eligible?

I'm sure someone who knows the youth set-up better than me could make changes. Townsend is the obvious debatable point, also do we have another English youth team keeper?

My comment was a bit of a sly dig at West Ham and their claim they won the WC in '66, but hey... we could have quite a few players in the England squad at this Euros and certainly by 2018 if they continue to progress.
