The ball deflected to him and he toe poked it. Was very lucky

Jesus, it wasn't an worldie but it was a good volley from an 18 year old on his debut. How the ball arrived at him has no relevance in how he finished it.

Have to give Rooney credit there, that's a very good goal. He's on the plane regardless so it's good to see him get a goal.

Bit harsh. He has faith in his ability and scored a good goal no point in speculating what might have happening if he missed.
I can't believe he was trying to smash that from outside the box into the roof of the net inches from the underside of the bar...

All I'm saying is in that position with that time/space it should almost be a certain goal, the way he took increases the chances of missing a lot.

I'd like to see Woy start his best 11 in the last two friendlies. Fuck trying to give players time to find some form. Give your best 11 time together so we can start the tournament strongly.

On the basis of this game I'd start dier and Henderson in the first game. I think Henderson has looked our best other central midfielder (and I don't really rate him generally)
