We need to play 3421 imo:
Hart
Jones Stones Cahill
Walker Dier Delph Bertrand
Rashford Alli
Kane
Henderson offers very little. We might need to try Delph in there. Sterling is a sub for me, not enough quality and Rose is not fit enough to consider.

Brazil, Germany, Spain, Argentina, France, Italy, Portugal, you all better watch out next year because we're going to bore the shit out of you. How is it possible to make a team with our attacking talent so boring?

When is this for? Not sure why you've got Jones and Delph who are injured, but ignored Lallana, Welbeck, Rose, etc.?

Perhaps by the managers insistence in playing 2 defensive midfielders against a qualifying group full of teams whose sole tactic is to defend in depth?

If today has taught England anything, it is that to win, Southgate must start all Spurs he brings to camp. Henderson was a complete joke all match (Winks would have done a world of good). Kane needs just a little service and he makes them so much better. Alli (were he not suspended) + Winks and this match ends 3-0 with a Harry Kane hattrick,

They should do away with the in season internationals and have them all played at the end of the domestic calendar.

Have all the minnow nations split into a qualifying league or a number of straight knockout groups.

That way coaches get longer with their players and the fans get better tournaments.

It can't be rocket science to make it workable.

Walker starts over tripper.

But otherwise.

Surely we've got someone English in our development squad than can replace ox.

I know Walker is at City now, but that goal today came straight from the Enfield training ground (so I still consider him Spurs). Ox has no business in the XI. Personally, I'd like to see a 4-3-3 with Dier, Winks, Alli midfield and Rashford, Kane, Sterling front 3 or a 3-5-2 with the same midfield but with a Kane/Rashford forward line (which, with Alli could function like a 3-4-3 when in possession).

I'm sorry but for me the buck stops with the manager. They're playing with total fear. The team is set up to fear the opposition and he (and those before him) try to play a different style to how all these players play week in week out.
The England set up is an old boys club and a total disgrace imo.
Only ones I feel sorry for is the players.
Edit- oh and us having to watch it.

Butland
Jones Cahill Stones
Walker Dier Dele Rose
Lallana Rashford
Kane

With no injuries I'd go with this as my ideal XI. Think we need 5 at the back else I see us as certs to concede 2 or more against any half decent outfit.

Especially if you play Dele as a CM ;)

The more Spurs players are put into the England squad, the more worry we have them getting injured. No thanks.
