I do hope Southgate doesn’t get too damaged this summer he is doing a good job.

Crisp passing to feet, a nice shape and some unfashionable players deserving of their place.
And yet we haven’t even come close to testing the goalkeeper

You cant really criticise much of what has happened in this half. England are trying to play the right way, and at a decent tempo, it's just what we lack in our options and the void in the centre of the pitch..... we just simply don't have that game intelligent tactical player (just even one player to start with, before even dreaming of a few options) who can knit the play together, appreciates space, and picks the right pass at the right time. No deep controller of play. No Eriksen/Silva/De Bruyne type player, who will just always be available for the ball and get into the half spaces and kill teams. That's what we struggle to develop and badly badly miss.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but it's a shame Wilshere got injured. I think he would have done alright at CM tonight. Henderson isn't doing what's expected of him at all (not much of a surprise).

Could do with having Dele on in the second half. We've played quite well so far, in fairness. Just need someone to link up the play in the middle.

Having Rose and Trippier on the wings is pointless when you've got Rashford leading the line. Their crossing ability is nullified by the fact that whenever we get into crossing positions, he's not anticipating the ball into the middle, and is stood too far back to make a difference when the ball comes in.

Other than that we've done alright. This Netherlands team isn't the same quality as that from a decade ago, but they've still got decent players. Hopefully Southgate has a plan to change it up in the second half a bit and find a way to get through this Dutch side

The big switches of play are a prime example. Ball goes out to Trippier constantly, he's isolated and still about 50 yards from goal as everyone deserts him... An Eriksen etc. would be making some sort of movement across there into the half space so he's got an option to build play with... Ox/Henderson/Lingard/Sterling and even Alli in all honesty just don't see that and have that high game intelligence to control proceedings to always make the option to move the ball.

I wish there was a world where we could get Rashford, I know he has been quiet and should have been braver at the back post. But I honestly think he could be a worldy, Jose is crushing him.

Henderson getting in everyones way

Is there a more useless, annoying footballer in world footballer?

Definitely up there in my top 3 hated players

VAR is designed to help refs but this ref is apparently too shit to be allowed to use it. There's some irony in there somewhere.
