Looks just as Trix said, all about being ready for next season clearly felt Gil playing reg for Valencia will help bring him on more than sitting on our bench. We do look light if we are unlucky with injuries

Although glad with the signings, the big glaring omission is pivotal to contes play and that’s a rwb - 5/10 for incomings for me, 8/10 outgoings

Ndombele granted was training separately, but there's no way none of Gil Dele and GLC would have had decent minutes until the rest of the season. Gil was a regular sub whilst they were all still here, let alone as part of the smaller squad we're going to have now.

One Kane injury and we've got Berwijn up top and only 3 options behind him. One or two injuries to our 4 CMs and we no longer have the option to play a 3-5-2 and will have U18s on the bench. Definitely still a player short imo.

I looked up Gil's sub record. You should too. The last time he came on for more than 20 minutes, was in September. Don't re-write it. He's had 9 sub appearances in total and played 30 minutes in the League since October.

My phone notifications went like this:

Official Spurs twitter - Bentancur signs!

Official Spurs twitch - reaction to our new signing, Kulusevski

Can’t even get our social media in order, never change Spurs.
Excuse my ignorance but how do you get notifications from twitter like that?

Thing is you have to remember how long it takes sometimes to get players out. If you don't want them and there's a solid offer that the player is willing to accept sometimes it's for the best. If he'd stayed it might have been for another full year of paying his wages.

Think of it this way come the Summer the excuse has now gone that we need to clear squad space before we can buy.
I can think of it another way come the Summer. The excuse will be that we didn’t reach CL football as we had a paper thin squad and therefore we have no money to spend

Feels like a minor nitpick in the larger context of the window, but I’m pretty disappointed we haven’t managed to find lower league loans for more of our youth. Especially Jamie Bowden, who we recalled from a very successful loan supposedly to send up a division, but since then it’s been crickets. The “plan” around the first team feels much more clear but we’ll have more and more Markandays and Maduekes if we can’t figure out how youth development works.

I'm satisfied that Conte is being backed. How many times have we been in situations where a manager wants players out and the club fails to shift them, holding out for unrealistic fees that the market won't bear? Conte made his assessment of the squad and we got rid of those he decided he wanted out. Kulusevski and Bentancur look like quality additions. Much work to be done, but that's a big step in the right direction.

All things considered its pretty good.

But a little surprised we let that many go...

Summer going to be pivotal.
Now we've saved some wages we need to go all out for some of these free transfers whilst we might have advantages over other clubs needing to shift players. Dybala, Kessie, Brozovic, Sule etc. Get them all in!

Kulusevski now has become a pivotal signing for us. He likes to play no10 but been playing wide. I wonder, if he is bought to be the no10 or the advanced midfielder in the midfield of 3. Paratici has certainly gone all-in on players he knows. If it comes off , he comes of like a genius - else, he is a goner.
Lets hope for club sake, the 2 players click straight away

It does look like calling up the ex when the hot new dates didn't turn up. But too early to judge Paratici- January's a tough window.

So looks like Ndombele, Dele, Lo Celso & Gil out and the 2 Juve in. I think to get those 4 big earners who aren’t contributing to the team out is excellent work, especially in January. But feels like we’ve left ourselves short with just 2 in. I guess Romero would be like a new signing if ever back from injury!

Looking at this positively, 3 of the 4 players leaving/already gone were clearly done under Conte, so we get 2 players who’ll be used and 1 gone who would’ve been used (Bryan). Two squad places open for Bryan and Pape’s returns this summer. Go all out for RWB, LCB, and ST in the summer, CM as well if Sarr isn’t ready. Sell Doherty, Rodon (or Sanchez or Tanganga), maybe Bergwijn (but I have a lot of hope for him still), obvs Tanguy and Gio if options not taken, possibly loan Sarr. And then the squad will look very very complete. Right now it’s about keeping the CM players fit. And definitely points to a 343 with only 4 midfield bodies.

Very positive last day. Always wanted Tanguy to come good so maybe some time away might wort him out. (if we don't get rid).

Cant say I know too much about the incomings, but if conte wanted them, then cant complain

Guys relax!
So what if we got a thin squad now, we can just do an arsenal and postpone the game and wait for our players to be fit.

I really hope we get someone more in and I think it's really needed

Can't complain about not getting a RWB or LCB in this window, if you look around at the transfers there weren't any you can consider worthwhile that moved. It is what it is.

It is but where is a smart 6 month loan to cover up front? I guess at a push Dier can play in the midfield but we only have Scarlett up front to cover Kane.

The 2 juve guys have to hit the ground running - without champions league next season its going to be v hard to have a good summer window
I think one thing being missed a little here is at least these two players will know each other very well. Settling in might be a bit easier in this respect.
