Slightly concerned we are leaving ourselves short with only the 2 Juve lads coming in after all the outs. Definitely need to get something else done in my opinion
Yep, but they weren't going to be used anyway, so pointless holding on an paying for an asset you don't intend on using.

Seriously, as fans why do you care what reported figure we've sold a player for?!
The implication is the more we recoup in transfer fees, the more we can afford to spend on incomings.

Take Liverpool selling Coutinho for £130m or whatever it was. They wouldn;t have wanted to lose the player but it's massively benefitted them how that money has been re invested. If they had sold him for £10m they probably wouldn't have won the league or Champions League in the last few seasons.

We've spent 2 years collectively saying how useless Dele is and how he shouldn't even be near the pitch, and now some of you seriously think we should have got £20-40mil for him? Are you all insane?

If he was worth that much, we would have got that at any time in the last 4 transfer windows.

Joe Willock and Dominic Solanke have been going for more than £20m. Dele hasn't worked out here over the last couple seasons but he's HG, experienced at the higest level, and in the right setup could still be a very good Prem player. He's also incredibly well-known and marketable.

Anyone arguing that free + £10m is even vaguely acceptable is deluding themselves I think.

Because he's only 25. If another PL team buy him for buttons and he gets back in form, we've gift wrapped them a risk-free player that is unplayable on form.

We're self-sustaining, so if you get a decent fee, you can at least console yourself with "that pays for this other new signing".

Turning into a bizarre transfer window very quickly. Don't think we are ending up with a better squad than what we started with.

"£10m fee once Dele plays 20 games"

There's 18 games left for Everton.

Nonsense reporting.
why? thyre are on the brink of FFP - means it'll get take out of their summer budget. therefore bypassing ffp.

Apart from Mourinho's first month or two, he's been shit for 4 years. How long do we wait?

The news today of outgoings has been way ahead of expected, was hoping for GLC and NDombele, both would have been a good start. Alli going is a bonus as it really does free up the wage bill, even Gil's loan is good, the guy needs some minutes.

Doubt we are going to get anything else inward, surely would be out there by now but you cant have everything. Still been a good day

There is probably more in it than first appears
We may have asked the right to buy him back for the same money should we want to do so at the end of his contract Effectively making the purchase a loan

Dele’s massive wages have to be taken into account here. We’re saving money by getting him off the books and the buying club is taking on a major expense by assuming his contract. It’s a bit different than paying over the odds for academy products on paltry wages.

28 appearances between them isn't nothing. I would say we need an extra player, does seem a bit short to me. Very much so. Particularly as Gil is leaving.

Or he plays a blinder for Everton, they then sell him in the summer for 30 million and pay nothing to us.

This makes no sense.

My guess is there are some other fees that get triggered which would bring the fee up to 20-30. Not sure how reporters find these things out so quickly anyway - prob dribs and drabs from people, none of which have the whole picture. or most likely, guessing to get clicks.

Personally think we've been lucky to get 10mil for Dele if it's true. He hasn't performed anywhere near a 10mil player if people want to be honest. 10mil and his wage gone and a hgp space opened is decent but that's just my feeling.

Yes, it has a direct impact upon what can then be spent to strengthen
So would spending millions on wages for him to sit there with Conte not putting him in a squad, because nobody would give us the £30m or whatever it might be. He's only worth what someone will pay, and the rest of the time, it's money directly down the pan as he wouldn't have been played, isn't it?
