just got home from the game via the pub.No idea what was going on regarding trouble, as i was other end of the east stand, towards the goal we attacked in the second half.
Dos Santos was for me the best player tonight, didnt really know anything about him couple of months back, but he looked awesome.
Glad Bent whacked another hattrick in.Some of the criticism hes had is totally unjust and hope he gets the chance to shut a few people up.JJ also had a good game when he came on(not a great JJ fan ) and that scissor kick if only it was a tad lower, would have been a goal worthy of winning any game.
On the negative side Adel Taarabt was bloody awful to say the least.Overall good bit of entertainment, looking foward to the Roma game.

Anyone who went, how did Jansson do? He's only 17 so I can't imagine he'd be left as our reserve keeper for the season but the fact he's starting in first team friendlies and went to Spain must mean we have high hopes for him.

There you go ... that's my match report, just for you DC.

Cheers Stoof - much appreciated - sounds like a well good evening -

So pleased for Bent - but will we rest him for Celtic - tricky one that

I'm still far from convinced Bale will be starting v Boro - ditto King

I guess we'll know so much more by my first 'live game' of the season - v Roma - really looking forward to that-

wonder what the starting line up for that one will be

Cheers Vegas - really enjoyed watching that - i can't get over Lennon's headed goal - a real peach - great break at speed by spurs - lovely cross by Zokora (did I really write that!!) and picture perfect header by Aaron (now I am still sleeping surely, no, no, it really happened) - fantastic

the second Bent goal absolutely quality too - great link up play and classic striker finish

as for the 5th goal - as I've said before Bent's got a hammer for a right foot but no hammers on his shirt :)

The Orient goal was fantastic!

And Lennon with a header ... now I really have seen everything!

(ok, haven't seen Zokora score yet so that's not true)

Bale had both feet strapped not just the old injured on whihc tells me he's fine and it's more likley to be one of those players who loves a bit to tape. I've got a weired fettish for putting loads of tape arnoud my ankles and top of socks on both feet when i play.

the first half shape and control was all wrong and i'm sad to say the blame goes to Taarabt and Ramos for picking him.
Becasue he was so bad on and off the ball we were playing with 10 men without realising it. Dos santos coming on changed things but to be honest it was the fact Taarabt went off that was the biggest change. We then had 11 men who knew what they were doing and we cruised throught he gears.
Of course i also think we're fitter than most sides we're gonna play in preseasn and it's no supirse to me that in teh second half of all our games so far we've curshed the opposition. Even the 1-1 draw in spain the second half we should have scored lots and looked much fitter and faster.

I hope Taarabts inclusion doesn't continue to the detriment of Bostocks career. We and he would have benefited greatly if he's played yesterday instead of Taarabt.

Had a bit of trouble finding this so thanks to nidge for pointing me in the right direction!

Jansson - 6, looked a little shakey to me - though he was Alnwick too lol until I got home as the tannoy was bloomin' awful and you couldn't hear it!)

Gunt - 6, didn't seem overly impressive to me but most of the team was a bit poor first half and he didn't get a chance second half to improve with the rest (think he went off injured?)

Gilberto - 5, still looks very sluggish and slow to me, think Assou-Ekotto was a defo improvement 2nd hald

Zokora - 6, looked shakey to me and still doesn't inspire confidence

Dawson - 7, solid and unspectacular really. Think it was him who took Dawkins out of the game - bad boy!

Lennon - 7, flitted around a lot but seemed to be the same old Lennon, sometimes being so quick footed he even fooled himself and lost control! Lovely spring in the air and header for his goal but reckon Bentley will be way ahead of him in contention for right wing slot

Huddlestone - 6, not really a fan of his to be honest and he still seems very slow even having lost all that weight. Think he was better second half when switched to centre back

Modric - 7, didn't seem very involved and got knocked about a bit but nice control for his goal and didn't seem to do too much wrong

Bale - 6, probably being a bit harsh here but didn't look as good as last season although being fair he is coming back from a long tim out. His crossing looked quite good though so reckon he'll get better with fitness and probably at left back rather than left midfield

Taarabt - 5, awful. Didn't see him do anything first half really (although view not to easy in Orient end for 1st half!). Was glad he was taken off for Dos Santos

Bent - 9, well he seems to be thriving. Three nice goals and he looked to be dangerous all night sprinting onto long balls or balls pushed in front of him

Substitutes

Assou-Ekotto - 7, a big improvement on Gilberto and provided pace and a good outlet on the left-hand side. Shame about the blond cornish-pasty hair though!

Jenas - 7, looked far better in midfield than Zokora and nice try on the bicycle kick!

O'Hara - 7, didn't really notice him as too busy getting excited about Dos Santos but seemed solid and keep things flowing

Dos Santos - 9, lovely lovely player. First time I had pleasure of seeing him live and his touch and control were amazing. Caused danger everytime he receiving the ball

Smith - 7, had no idea who he was until checked on computer when got home. Seemed solid enough with a bit of skill to boot - look forward to seeing more of him

Townsend - 8, looked very skillfull and very impressed as had heard good things about him. Thought he was Bostock until got home as he was that good

Agreed - we even played the last 5 - 10mins with 10 men (Dos Santos came off without a replacement) and still Orient didn't get a touch. I presume the idea was some practice for the inevitable red card that will come, and the guys left out there put on an exhibition of pass and move. 'Twas nice!!

Did you see the trouble in the away stand, A?

I was directly opposite in the Orient stand, and couldn't really work out what it all was about?

It all started about 5 rows behind me - some bloke was standing in the aisle for most of the game, absolutely leathered trying to fire up the crowd with a few chants. Early in the second half (2-1 or 3-1) a couple of stewards finally decided they'd had enough and came in to take him out. He refused, threw a punch at one of the stewards and then ran to the back of the stand to try and mingle in with the other spectators in the back row (as if they didn;t know who he was ... ) As he'd assaulted a steward, the police got involved and everyone basically got a bit heated against the police ("leave 'im alone", "Spurs have gotta stick together", "he's one of our own" etc)

Storm in a teacup, but got everybody fired up and noisy so some good came out of it!!

JR's up to his old tricks again! Good practice & experience for the lads to have.

i knew dos santos was always looking for space but the way he disappeared was brilliant, i never even saw him come off. hope it wasn't a knock, the boy's absolute class.

Headed goals in consecutive games. Small player, pacy and marvelous dribbling skills. Now heading ability added. Is lennon developing into a new Cliffy Jones?
