So from what I thought we needed, we ended up a backup striker (Ings), a goal-scoring midfielder (Damsgaard) and a central defender (Kounde) short. Ouch.

Right-back ended up better than expected with Emerson over Doherty and assuming Tanganga moves across, that cancels out not getting Tomiyasu.

Realistically, failing to move on Winks was poor but always unlikely we'd move on both Dier and Sanchez.
Glad you aren’t a club scout. Searching for a goal scoring midfielder and come back with a player that scored 2 league goals last year. Conned by one major tournament free kick.

I’m expecting at least half of these players to leave the club by the end of next summer’s TW -

Lloris - if he doesn’t sign a new contract

Kane - if we win zilch again. Levy will accept a lower fee as his contract will have only two years left .

Winks - no comment

Doherty - no comment

Davies - especially if Sess works out well at LB

Moura -age factor unless his G/A tally improves

Bergwijn - unless his G/A tally improves

Ndombele - unless he gets his head back into the game

Rodon - if he doesn’t get much game time

Dier - if he goes back to his old self

Sanchez - if he goes back to his old self

There are a lot of names on that list, so I’m expecting some to still stay at the club. There are still question marks on Dele & GLC but I think that they will stay.

FP will have to start his search early (for incomings as well as for buyers for the outgoings).

I'm fairly happy with the incomings. Need a striker, still (what is the problem here? Seriously ffs), and you can't replace three quarters of the squad in one window, but what I'm not happy with is the outgoings.
At the start the 5 I wanted gone the most were Dier, Sanchez, Wnks, Sissoko and Aurier. 2 out of 5 is a bit shit ad we got fk all for one of them!
And while Dier and Sanchez have started well in the first 3 games we have still seen examples of their weaknesses, we just got away with them. Sanchez still cannot turn without losing balance, still passes sideways 9 timea out of 10 and Dier still has a brainfart per match in him, Traores one on one being the worst. Like to see more of Sanchez with these Toby like long balls that have (after how many years) come into his game. He's clearly good at them so where have they been??? Maybe there is hope for him after all now we've a coach who actually knows how to coach.
Winks staying though is jst taking up a squad place as far as I'm concerned. Maybe if Nuno can drum into him to turn and go forward quickly, as Skipp does everytime he gets the ball, he can redeem his Spurs career. He's another one who can do it but would rather play safe with a backwards pass.
Gill also looks a great buy.

P.s. What the hell happened with Musacchio. According to this he's been without a club since leaving Lazio in July only 6 months after making the shift permanent.

With so many names thrown around this window I have lost track of players we have bought. Can someone update me?
Also I know Toby, Foyth, Aurier, Rose and Sissoko have gone. Anyone else?
Thanks!

The squad as I see it, Sessegnon and Tanganga need to push on and replace Doherty and Davies who I’ve put with the academy prospects.

The second 11 will hopefully develop with conference league football

Glaring hole where Clarke is in the 22, we should have signed a striker or winger

I can see us targeting a lot of free transfers and younger players (again) next summer. Paratici can use his experience to get those deals done when discussions on free transfers can begin in January. It looks a good list. That’s what he did at Juventus and I reckon it is one reason why he was brought in.

Wow thanks for this! Brilliant stuff

DL has hugely reduced the wage bill and hopefully this gives us room to add players in the coming windows. I guess it also gave more room for upping wages of players who are key, like Son

Was on loan at Lazio I think but wasn't very good. He's out of contract now. He's a good cautionary tale. I remember the clamour to sign him because he was linked with us for a lot of money, and the anger when it didn't materialise. We'd just have been left with another big money average player who really wouldn't have elevated us, and we wouldn't have been able to sell him for anywhere near the amount we'd have paid.

Wouldn't mind 3-4-3 at all but if we're still playing Dele, Skipp and Hojbjerg in midfield (especially one with a back three behind them) then I'd be a bit disappointed. Need one of GLC or Ndombele in that third CM role.

Would love Gil to be in contention by then though, think he looks like a star.

It makes the best use of our best players, but if we are playing two up top it's even more bizarre we didn't buy a back up striker.

Moura and Berg are not strikers. Scarlett isn't ready. One injury to either of the front two and then what.....

Yeah. That was the formation I had in my head but if you go two up top then it makes the lack of striker search even more baffling.

Not necessarily what people will agree with but what I’d personally be most excited to see given a go and making the best of that six-toed cousin of a window.

Son Kane Gil
Lucas Scarlett Markanday

Hojbjerg Skipp Ndombele
John/Devine White/Winks LoCelso/Bergwijn

Reguilon Sanchez Romero Emerson
Sessegnon Rodon Dier Tanganga

Lloris
Gollini

Before people get hatchets out, this is what I’d like and most enjoy seeing given a go, including experiments given the mess we left ourselves in various places.

Love to see Markanday. That helped me get over the window.

Bergwijn massive speculation but I just want to see how he would do as a central midfielder. Think he has the tools and would do a lot better than dele.

Imo sessegnon is really poor and will have to go when he plays enough for people to see that. He’s Sissoko esque on the ball and all reputation. Levy is a moron. Cirkin for me.

I don’t think dele is anywhere near good enough for any position in a top four chasing team. I struggle to watch him more than any player, he’s so immobile and unnatural, and dont think good off the ball movement in attack is in any way enough to make up for being so poor at everything on it and the detrimental effect that has on our play and solidity in midfield which isn’t just tackles but shape. Opinions.

Edit: dele guaranteed hat trick next game now,

I agree. I like the look of it a lot and especially as we wouldn't have to rely on a weak RW option. The key to it though for me is having one of Lo Celso, Ndombele or Gil in place of Dele.
