I thought that, then thought better of it.

Would we do that? That's DL/committee/whatever directly influencing team selection...

If it's the difference between Andre having an extra £1-2-5-10m or whatever in the pot for a player he wants, he'll do it - the guy's not daft. imho.

nedley mate, I couldn't agree more (re the bit in bold).. The thing is, we have a bit of a problem mate... The guy who most certainly IS NOT a striker and should never have been seen as one has, over the past 10 games or so, out performed both of the current 'strikers' in goals and assists :(
That's not a problem. That's a good thing. However, it is only good if Levy sees that this was when he played along with a recognised striker (except at Leeds). He can score goals but needs someone else up there with him.

The striker situation at our club is laughable for a team with aspirations of Champions League football. The problem Levy has now is that every fucker who has been screwed by him before will be rubbing their hands with glee ashe turns up desperate on deadline day. It really is a situation he has created himself...

Saha did okay for us. He scored 4 in 10. It's just that his time here coincided with the epic collapse. But it wasn't like he was to blame for that. I completely understand that he's not glamorous, but I don't like the knocks he gets. I think he worked really hard during his time here and I hold a lot of respect for him. I personally think we should have kept him as an option.

Saha did OK. The major issue was the collapse of the team and the fact that we were all hoping for a more permanent solution to the striker issue.

That worked out, didn't it.

Edit: can I "old" my own post?

Agreed - I was being serious when I said we could of done with him now given the circumstances.

Wouldn't it be nice if strikers were like buses?

Negredo and hooper certainly wouldn't cost the earth in wages so long term viability.

Never gonna happen though. Levy would have had to of been seduced into a erotic frenzy by some slap head slobbering slut!

I think it's been lost in the bog that is this thread, but didn't POTL say something more positive about Defoe? But to back up the ITK's saying Defoe is definitely out, Tom Carroll has posted this which makes it pretty clear about Defoe in the short term:

Tom Carroll

Let's forgot about our loss against Leeds and look to secure 3 points against Norwich. It's going to be tough playing away without Defoe or Adebayor, but if we want to make top 4, we have to do our best with what we have and win games like these.

We all know Levys business is done from a financial viewpoint and not a team viewpoint coopsieyid.....it doesn't make sense why he does it in the last minute.......

I mean look at last year if he would have just spent 15million on a decent striker then we could have got champions league football and all the benefits of it, instead he waited until the last minute, desperately signed Saha because we were short and Saha wasnt up to the job, which Everton knew anyway, hence the reason they let him go for free.

You get what you pay for, if you want top 4 you have to buy better strikers at market value, interestingly us and Arsenal dont have great strikers and thats what holds us back.

Look at the top 10 strikers in the league IMO and tell me where Defoe or Giroud would place
1- RVP 2-Suarez 3-Aguero 4-Rooney 5-Tevez 6-Chicharito 7-Dzeko 8-Ba 9-Michu 10-Berbatov

Lets be honest even Benteke, Cisse, Jelavic, Balotelli, Welbeck, Fletcher and Sturridge have a case at being better than what us or the scum have.

Glad it was just the testing. Also, are we confident the Goat can avoid the pratfalls that have befallen other Twitterers with club knowledge? I'd hate to see the Goat go off the rails like the last window when it bleated Siggy was shite.
Eh?

I know this is cryptic for someone very special, cos it sounds like you're describing my mum.

I reckon hooper at best.

Negredo will want good wages, won't he?

i don't really know to be honest mate.

I want to say I really hope we don't end up with Hooper but I'd be saying that without knowing anything about him so it wouldn't really be justified :D
