By the way Lawro's prediction for 'Boro v Palace is typically hilariously contradictory:

Middlesbrough v Crystal Palace
Middlesbrough are unbeaten so far, but this is a game they will expect to win and I think they will find it difficult.

Crystal Palace have only picked up one point so far but they have made some good signings and, when I look at them, I think they will get better.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Literally: Middlesbrough have been good and Palace have been bad so I think Palace will win.

WTF you thatch-roof-haired bin-dipping mentalist?!

Stoke v Tottenham
Like Palace, Stoke are another team who have made a slow start but I am sure will improve.

Getting Bony on loan from Manchester City was a great signing for the Potters because a goalscorer was the thing they lacked last season.

Bony likes playing on his own, which suits Stoke, and he will be playing regularly, which makes a big difference. He will be a good acquisition.

Tottenham won 4-0 at Stoke in April, but I do not see things being anywhere near as easy this time.

I am still waiting for Spurs to really hit their stride this season but they remain hard to beat - so a draw is the most likely outcome.

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Dave's prediction: That's a Spurs win for sure. Go Spurs! 1-3

In all seriousness, Lawro has predicted the result in our first three games, with the correct score in two of them

I actually don't think his predictions are too far off usually, especially with us. What makes me laugh are his Liverpool 100% victories all season stuff and the random nonsensical ones like that Palace prediction where he just looks like he's taking the piss.

Tottenham v Sunderland (16:30 BST)
Sunderland were poor defensively in their 3-0 home defeat by Everton on Monday night. When the Toffees raised their level in the second half, it was all over.

This looks like another big test for the Black Cats. I would go so far as to say that it looks to be a home banker for Tottenham.

Spurs lost to Monaco at Wembley in the Champions League on Wednesday but I don't see them having any problems on their return to White Hart Lane.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

And Liverpool ....

Chelsea v Liverpool (20:00 BST)
I was really surprised that Chelsea lost control of the game in their 2-2 draw at Swansea on Sunday.

It was only down to a mad couple of minutes but, the way they were when they were in front, there is no way the Blues should have found themselves 2-1 down.

Other than their blip at Burnley, Liverpool have been better than the other three teams they have played - and we are talking about Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester there.

So I really fancy the Reds to win this one. They have a real momentum about them and I think playing an away match against an attacking team will suit Jurgen Klopp's side.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

If you're wondering about Merse's prediction don't bother. Although he says 3-0 to us he **** on Wembley and the fans. Prick.

If you're wondering about Merse's prediction don't bother. Although he says 3-0 to us he **** on Wembley and the fans. Prick.

But it deserves to be analysed, especially when connecting it to his article in the Star that says essentially the same thing with some "intelligent" additions.

I didn’t know Tottenham had 85,000 fans anyway. I bet most of them don’t go to the Lane every week!

I know that Merson has a Mensa level IQ but perhaps he could explain to us village idiots how he proposes that 85k fans manage to go every week to a stadium that on a normal day hosts under 37k. Perhaps we can all turn up with our friends standing on our shoulders wrapped in massive trench coats like they do in the cartoons?

They dominated against Monaco in midweek and still lost – but there’s no way they would have been beaten at White Hart Lane.

Not with the fans right on top of the players and the atmosphere pumping. It would have been mind-blowing.

Ok Merse perhaps you can put loyalty aside and turn your expert knowledge of construction to tackling how they can build the new stadium in shorter time frame. Or perhaps your knowledge of sporting statutes to navigating our way around Uefa rulings that dictated we physically CAN'T play at WHL in Europe this season.

Clearly we should have consulted Paul. We'd have the ability to fit twice as many people into a stadium as it can physically hold, engineering and architectural knowledge that is truly cutting edge and perhaps he'd have thrown in some expertise in how to be completely unable to pronounce player names, or say anything even remotely intelligent every Saturday yet still be employed as a pundit.

Middlesbrough v Tottenham
Harry Kane's injury is an obvious concern for Tottenham, especially because it is still unclear how severe it is.

But this is a great opportunity for Vincent Janssen, who they spent a lot of money on over the summer.

Janssen might have thought he would be sitting on the bench for a while, but after getting his first goal for Spurs against Gillingham, now he can show what he can do in the Premier League too.

Middlesbrough have just lost back-to-back league games and I just wonder whether the momentum you bring up with you as a promoted club is just starting to run out.

Sometimes that momentum makes up for a lack of quality and we will find out a lot about Boro in the next few weeks.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2
