Burnley v Tottenham (20:00 GMT)
I still can't quite believe how Tottenham threw away a 3-0 lead against West Ham with less than 10 minutes remaining, and only picked up a point.

That just showed how Spurs are still something of an enigma and, as dangerous as they are going forward, they are still vulnerable at the back.

I think Burnley can capitalise, if they take the game to Spurs. The Clarets are getting more and more players back from injury, and I'm backing them to get their first win of the season.

Lawro's prediction: 2-1
Love it.

He always, always gives Liverpool the benefit of the doubt, even back when they were shit, but put the top scorers in the league who are unbeaten in 9 (all comps) against an especially weak Burnley side...of course Burnley are due their first win.

Predicting results is guess work at the best of times, even more so at the moment with the way results are falling. I imagine Lawrenson is just flipping a coin for most games at the “murment.”

Except the one he uses for Liverpool which is heads both sides.

I know everyone loves to bash old Lawro but I thought I'd share an anecdote about him.

I've got an old school friend who's a senior producer for BBC Sport who did Match of the Day for many years. I caught up with him after a Welsh 6 Nations game a number of years ago and we got on to the subject of ex professionals, pundits & commentators across a range of sports that he covered.

I asked about the Motd guys and basically said Lawro did my head in with his analysis and his predictions and found most pundits hopeless, but I liked Hansen a lot. He laughed and said that's what everyone says but on a personal level Lawro is the nicest guy you could ever meet and absolutely everyone at the BBC loved him. Hansen on the other hand was an utter prick who nobody liked.

A year or so later, I was in London for a Spurs game and my mate said text him after the game because the MOTD team were out in the evening after filming for drinks if you want to catch up. This was back in the day when they filmed in London.

I met the man himself, although my mate introduced us by saying "this is one of my old friends from school, he think's your predictions are shit". He laughed and said I know and then bought me a drink. I got to say he was a nice guy and pretty engaging company. Lineker was there too and he was a good laugh....funnily enough Hansen wasn't invited :D

I still think his predictions are shite....

Great story, thanks for sharing.

This isn't the first story I've heard about him being a nice guy.

It goes to show we shouldn't get so hateful about people on the TV just because they make stupid predictions or they say something we disagree with.

The 2 year thread bump!

His last ever predictions on BBC website.

Norwich v Tottenham

I know there is this perception that Tottenham can always slip up, but not this time.

I am expecting Norwich to give them a game but Spurs have got Dejan Kulusevski now as well as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min and I don't see the Canaries holding out, let alone beating them.

Spurs have fought so hard to get into this position, where they just need a point to get back into the Champions League after two seasons away. I don't see them falling at the final hurdle.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Over the years he's talked lot of nonsense and never hid his allegiance to Liverpool but I'll miss him/his predictions - always killed a few minutes on a Friday at work.

I wonder if the beeb will get someone else to take over or just not bother with the predictions section.

Yup , its tradition and given the unpleasant language thrown at pundits generally, I like to think the Lawro abuse is tinged with affection..

Got us down for a 0-2 win at Norwich ?

...what a **** !

I loved that part in the article where it pointed out that since he never predicted they would lose, Lawro had inadvertently predicted that Liverpool would go on the longest undefeated streak in football history - 159 games!

Most likely replaced by some absolute weapon from YouTube.

A bit gutted that the Lawro predictions have come to an end - it's the end of an era and despite Liverpool clinching their 20th title in a row and being unbeaten for two decades, he was generally fair with Spurs. I'll miss them.
