I seem to recall he was quite complimentary on MOTD2.

I honestly dont get the Lawro hate, although I can understand why many feel, 'I could do that, gissa job'.
He was, but now he has said we looked disjointed and like a collection of individuals rather than a team, wtf is he on about? That was our best team performance for an age.

My issue with Lawro is that he quite clearly hasn't watched the games that he uses to draw his opinion from. His rationale for score predictions is also inconsistent at best, and uses incorrect interpretation at worst.

I know he gets shit for preferential treatment of Liverpool, but I don't see that as too much of an issue, we're all the same at Spurs and even if we were trying hard to be unbiased, I'm sure our predictions would probably be favourable to the reality over the course of the season.

It's a bit like Crooks' team of the week, he just looks at the clean sheet, who scored and penalty saves columns.

Even by his own standards, this is a piss poor preview from him:

_79478927_tottenhamvcrystalpalace.jpg

Tottenham v Crystal Palace
I look at Tottenham's team and they are faceless. I don't identify anybody with that side and, at the start of December, manager Mauricio Pochettino is still searching for his best XI.
They should be fine at home against Palace, who beat Liverpool and drew at Swansea but had a really poor result in midweek, losing at home to Aston Villa.
But Spurs aspire to be a top-four team and, when you see how they got on against Chelsea on Wednesday, you see how far away from that they actually are.
Lawro's prediction: 2-1

So basically he still thinks we are shit but goes with us because we're overwhelming favourites.

I know the predictions are just supposed to be fun so more fool us for getting annoyed about it. The trouble is that Lawrenson doesn't actually treat it as fun, he only ever predicts 2-0/2-1/1-1 scorelines, which are the most common and his explanation paragraphs capture his dull, humourless character perfectly.

He's as biased as anyother fan, I'm not claiming I'd do better, but what really irks me is that our license fees pay for him continually talk and write his agenda driven bollocks. Hopefully we'll win and Liverpool will lose this weekend so he can finally address the issue of Liverpool doing a "Spurs" which he said they wouldn't do in an article over the summer.

Seriously, how does the man remain employed? I have tolerated his cheap and unsavory comments in the last couple of years due to some of the pathetic football we have witnessed from our club. But this is outright wrong, and he has no clue, not a single clue what he is jabbering on about. Mark Lawrenson is a complete tool and a joke of an analyst. An utterly repellent, Chuckle brother wannabe who can should simply fuck off

I could save a lot of time here and just say Tottenham will nick a 2-1 win in the last minute.
That was the story of their last away game against Swansea, just as it was against Hull and Aston Villa in the last couple of months too.
Leicester have lost nine of their last 10 league games and are in real danger of just slipping away.
They are five points adrift of safety and desperately need to arrest the slide they are on.
They should not look at Spurs and see anything to be scared of and, if they avoid making silly mistakes, they have a chance of picking up at least a point.
Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Well this review is the height of impartiality, and I thought he hated us.
Tbf to the **** the guest predictor thinks we'll lose 2-1. What the fucking fuck. All the other top teams will get a win whether playing home or away, but lowly tottenham, playing the side at the bottom of the table, who have lost 9 of the last 10, would be lucky to scrape a draw. Beautiful

Hey, don't let it get to you. I normally worry if he predicts a win for us.
What's your prediction?

He doesn't get to me big man, I actually love him for being an unapologetic biased ****, and I would seriously miss it when he finally retires from the prediction game.
I reckon we'll win 3-0

He's only 2 points out with us so far and we've actually lost more than he's predicted. In fact besides Liverpool (who have basically swapped places with West Ham), his predicted league is pretty much in the right order, give or take

He's an absolute fuckwit but we all know full well we are always capable of beating anyone home or away yet are equally capable of getting beaten by anyone too.

3-1 us. Coys.

Agreed, he's actually pretty good with us, but he massively over rates our nearest rivals, such that Liverpool are 9 points worse off than he has them, Arsenal 11 points, Everton 6 points. Basically he rates all those teams as much better than us, despite them not actually being. At the other end of the scale he underrates West Ham, Swansea, and West Brom by 14, ten and six points respectively

Yeah but that doesn't seem too unreasonable. I still can't believe how well West Ham are doing. And Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool are all having comparatively poor seasons which he clearly thinks will eventually come good. Swansea's a weird one tho

The man is a complete nob jockey. We've just won 3 games in 6 days, we've got players playing better, we've got players playing with an increased confidence, we've had goals from Soldado and Lamela, Kane is on fire, whilst still shaky in places we've generally looked more solid and playing with some shape plus, plus we've got Hugo.

****! Pfft.

I actually don't mind Guy Mowbray's prediction as his logic (which he has had to restrict to 1 sentence) is essentially that he's playing the odds in thinking Leicester will have to get a win from somewhere and there's more chance of it happening in front of their own fans (although I disagree with that bit).

What I do mind is the clearly bitter overtone in what Lawro says. He sounds so pissed off that we've been winning in that opening passage, and then his argument for a draw is that we're not very good so unless Leicester self-destruct they'll get something by default. Meanwhile he refers to Liverpool's momentum as the reason they'll win at Burnley (whose form would suggest they've got more momentum than Liverpool!). He's a douche and I hate him and I wish him a miserable Christmas (which he'll probably have regardless as he's such a sour-faced bitter ****!).

Merry Christmas to the rest of you in here though. Here's to 3 points at the KP.

As I've said a few times in this thread - I like to compare Lawro's and Merson's predictions...here's what the fat potato head gooner has to say:

Leicester v Tottenham

If this was live on Super Sunday, I probably would have gone for a last-minute 2-1 win for Spurs, but it’s not.

Leicester may be struggling at the moment but it’s never easy to play them on their own patch, so I’m going for all square in this one.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1

Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't Arsenal and Liverpool both been masters of the last minute winner in games of recent seasons???

They both hate Spurs so much it's funny.
