EA just revealed a mini trailer for FIFA 15 and Suarez was the main player.

Sit back Liverpool fans, it's going to be a long ride.

It's a catch 22 situation really. Yes, it'd be hilarious to see Liverpool lose Suarez after the season they've had, but also I don't want to see them get a £70 mill cash injection. Big money + CL football = quality signings (unless you're Arsenal).

True but I'm sure they thought the same about us with £100m to spend. Granted no CL footy but we had Europe and they didnt. Suarez like Bale for us has single handedly won them lots of games this season. Very hard to replace.

At the end of the day if Madrid really want him they'll get him. They won't go in big for him without a serious nod from Suarez himself. I really can't see him passing up the opportunity to play at the biggest Club in the world flanked by Ronaldo and Bale.

And most importantly he may not get the opportunity again - serious injury, Madrid move on and go for someone else who turns out to be the business for them.

I reckon he'll be gone come August.

And no matter who Liverpool bring in, losing Suarez will hurt them massively.

Particularly if Bodgers can't sort out his defence.

Suarez has already enrolled his Daughter in Primary School in Liverpool and told the club and his friends so if he's planning on going to Madrid it certainly weren't in his thinking as recent as a week ago.

I do find it amusing how badly Spurs, Utd, Arsenal and Everton fans are falling over themselves trying to persuade themselves and anyone who will listen that Suarez will definitely will be a Madrid player come Sept. Pure desperation.

I don't for one minute think JWH will sell for anything less than a world record fee and now we made CL there are no active release clauses in his contract. Him kicking off won't matter a jot just like last season as he knows the consequences (which is why he won't play up). JWH won't sanction a sale either again because (unless Madrid decide to change their minds on Benzema) there is no-one to replace him and JWH is a stickler for that.

I honestly believe he'll stay now we have CL football as he has said several times in interviews he wants to experience.

Also, Marca isn't Gospel. There were at least 4 stories from them this time last Summer reporting a deal agreed with Suarez taking him to Madrid and several front pages. They have to fill it with something everyday. here's just one example:

A deal for Luis Suárez - MARCA.com (English version)

Even if we do sell him, with the money we have to spend and the targets we have already made a move for I'm confident we'd still come 4th.

He may or may not leave but it's funny that the Scousers seem to trust everything the rat says in the papers, doesn't his Mrs have family in Spain? I find it hard to believe he'd turn down Madrid if they mad a serious offer and he can't really say he want's to move there untill that offer comes in anyway so it doesn't matter what he's said in the press up untill this point. We know full well how this works.

Would a young kid from Uruguay grow up dreaming of playing for Liverpool or would it be more likely that he wanted to play for Madrid, Barca or one of the big Italian teams? I imagine the list of players to turn down Madrid is very short.

They made a serious bid for him last season it just didn't get the same coverage as the Arsenal bid here. They wouldn't pay more than 40mEuros so JWH sent them packing. Thats one of the reasons Suarez was so pissed.

I think they'll be more willing to pay the big money after last year though don't you? He proved he could keep it together mentaly over a full season more or less which is something Madrid will be pleased with.

Nobody thinks Marca is gospel either but if they go into full on Suarez overdrive, it's because Real have told them to do so. Do you honestly not think Suarez will be interested and could have his head turned by the European champions? He can force a move any time he wants, release clause or not. All he has to do is trash your club and your fan base will be divided with half of them bringing out the old line "no player is bigger than the club".

If Zidane chips in with his thoughts then you really know you're fucked but if it's only Michel Salgado then you could still have a chance at keeping him.

P.S- Even Suarez can't see the future so it would make sense that he'd have to enrole his kid in school at this time of year. It's hardly the deal breaker that the Scouse faithful seem to be suggesting.

@Toela65 If Madrid want him, they will get him. End of.

We all thought he would stay, but with Madrid, it never happens.

1) Don't get too comfortable. We're here to tell you that Madrid plays by a whole new set of rules. Like the school thing? Yeah, we had our version of Bale and his child to grasp onto.

2) But you are right. It does seem likely that your owner will use that money as a starting spot rather than as a budget limit as we did. So you will probably adjust to life without him better than we did without Bale

You could be in for a painful realisation come the end of the summer.

Of course he could end up staying, if Madrid's interest isn't excessive. But if it is, he'll be whipping that kid out of burglary class quick smart.

And there is a world of difference between participating in the CL and playing for a side that is one of the favourites to win it, and probably the favourite to win it.

Oh Toela, don't do it to yourself. The wheels have been greased buddy and this is only the beginning of the courting process.

Don't worry you'll get a nice fee for him.

This is how it starts in afraid. Below are some examples of the sort of things we were saying about Bale in the summer.

"He has just had a kid, and still lives in Wales and commutes to London as he is such a family man so why would he go to Spain?"......

...." It's all media bollocks, fans of other teams are just spreading shit because they are scared as we have the best player in the league".....

(Starting to come to terms with it) "even if we did sell, this is Levy we are talking about, he won't be bent over and we would be stronger with a couple of £30m players anyway".....

..... "Fuck Marca, they don't know anything anyway, just stirring things up, I'll believe it when I hear it from the club"....

Sounds familiar I bet. He is gone. Only question is how much for.

The difference between Bale and Suarez is that Real Madrid wont be willing to offer the megabucks required for the signing. The marketing potential for them to recoup some of the cost for Suarez isnt as great with the baggage.

The time for Real to get Suarez was last summer. They'd have got him for sure back then had they chosen him ahead of Bale (and for about £30m less than they paid us).

Can't see it now unfortunately as due to a variety of factors Liverpool's bargaining position has become far stronger (new contract, CL qualification, the fact that it'd be hard for Suarez to pull the same shit two summers in a row with a straight face, Real setting a ludicrous precedent with what they paid for Bale, etc).

Would love if it did happen though, if for no reason other than that Toela might disappear off here for a week or so.

Marca front covers and headlines from left to right

Madrid keeps the number 10 for Kun, 28 millions and Negredo, Clear as day

24cy43d.jpg

I can post a lot more if you want. He signed 25 times for us in the space of a couple of years.

This is in our ground last year after the Real Madrid v Man City game the journalist asked him if Real Madrid's interest is genuine to which Kun replied

"I'm not gonna talk about it, obviously if Real Madrid was interested I will be in Real Madrid, but I'm not. When I was in the Copa America only City showed interest in me and I had nothing else left to do but join them."

This is not true. Last summer absolutely not, not even interested.
I posted some quotes in this thread from an interview in which Florentino said that Benzemá and Khedira will be renewed as agreed last summer, and the Club doesn't want another situation similar to last summer when we had two starting 9's competing for the same spot. This was his reply to a question about L. Suárez. It indicates nothing but in the same way there's nothing that indicates interest in him.

For the record, I think if we play 4-3-3 he is a must, but if we stick to 4-4-2 I'd rather have somebody faster and better dribbler. Jesé. But he's out until December at least. I hope Bale is moved centrally or at least play there a lot more often. Such a shame this Jesé injury it has messed up everything.

I'll give you an example of how Marca operate

Floren, José Ángel Sánchez[does the same role as Levy in Spurs] and Carlo are seen out in the city dining together. It has all the makings of a great, fanciful and eye catching story that will blow away the transfer muppets. Throw in there the exotic name of the location to make the story more colorful and pretend to know what these three met for. Now the stab in the dark, rag-like, pseudo journalism begin;

4huzk0.jpg

The names of Vidal, Pogba, Coentrâo and 30 more players are mentioned. Two days later Bronzetti, Butragueño, and Florentino rubbish the Vidal and Pogba rumors, Coentrâo signs extension to 2019, so they move on the last big name still left.

Last summer in the same day Napoli agreed fee for Higuaín they ran a story saying that "to present day Real Madrid has not received any offers for Higuaín", while months earlier Marca already presented the stories of the London rags about Higuaín as a version of their own[i.e. that Higuaín signed for Arsenal]. Few hours later this article was deleted from their database.

Those are recent examples that's why I posted them. Make of this what you want.

Won't they? Given the fact that they narrowly lost the title to their local rivals and knowing what their biggest rivals and most successful team in their league of recent seasons have a transfer ban coming up, I suspect they will see this as the perfect opportunity to spank some money down and strenthen.

Benzema was good last season, but no doubt he doesn't fit with their star studded front line.

Hahaha....you seem to have a lot of details about Groundhog's contract, where the details have never been made public.
If the release clause is met, he's gone.....Hes 28, do you seriously think he's going to choose to spend the peak of his career at Liverpool or Real Madrid.
The stories are appearing daily now in Marca, they're stepping it up, can you remember the last player that Real went balls out for and didn't get ? I can't.....
You're in denial, that's the first stage , I remember it well.

Agree Suarez is not the saleable product that Bale is but he is a player who would improve them so if they do want him they will pay well

He might not be that marketable but who cares when your front three is Bale, Suarez and Ronaldo.

Goals, goals, goals!
