Steven Gerrard was once tipped for Liverpool job - now that idea is laughable
Gerrard is now failing in Saudi Arabia, two months without a win. Any reputation is quickly fading with itinews.co.uk
It's funny. It's hilarious
Major news outlets reporting it now. That going horribly wrong is probably the least surprising thing about anything football related in 2023.Looks like Rooney getting sacked from Birmingham, serves them right making the mental decision to get him in whilst they were flying in 6th!

Obviously two completely different ownership groups but for Birmingham fans it must be such a sickener for this to happen to them for the second time.Few managerial changes that were so unnecessary and went so badly.
Maybe when Birmingham appointed Zola.
I saw a YT comment that summed up Rooney.
"He speaks in cliches and not about ideas"
When you hear him speak, its true. Between all the "erms" he doesn't actually say anything.
I don't know how someone can interview him and believe he is the answer.
I think with Rooney it's also been a bit of a case of the Birmingham owners admitting they aren't football people so to compensate they've gone for the footballiest football person they could get their hands on to try to show fans that they really understand football.Probably because a lot of people are impressed by cliches. “Football people” like old school coaches, ex pros, pundits etc do it all the time. And I think some people are especially ready to buy into it when it’s “backed up” up with experience of the game. And Rooney has experience of the game at the highest level, and he played under some of the most stellar coaches of all time.
But it’s the classic, just because you were a great player doesn’t mean you’ll automatically be a great coach or manager.
He was criticising the players very early on when he started saying that they 'need to play with pride' - whatever that means.Rooney's level of intelligence has nothing to do with him being sacked, he is just a poor manager.
Take Gerrard's jobSaudi is undoubtedly next stop.

I'm guessing Zidane wasn't available.Yeah, my mate who’s a Birmingham fan was fuming when they sacked Eustace to appoint Rooney. It was a really poor decision, I guess made mainly on the basis that they wanted a big name coach.
If you can't articulate your plans/ philosophy due to being thick as shit, is a bit of a barrierRooney's level of intelligence has nothing to do with him being sacked, he is just a poor manager.
