Was thinking about this today, being from Scotland and born in the late seventies I idolised a fella called davie Cooper. I am a lefty like he was sadly he's been gone for a long time but he for me was magical. So who made you wanna play football or even just got you interested?

I was between Hoddle and Maradona. I can’t choose so I’ll just settle on the fact that my ability seems to have inspired Sissoko.

4 players. Ronaldinho, Gattuso, Puyol and Aaron Lennon. I was a CB/RB when I was little and I liked aggressive players so I fell in love with Gattuso LOL. Aaron Lennon is my favourite Spurs player of all time, I always wanted to have the same fade as he had but I never pulled it off :(

Jose Dominingez.

not a joke, like my spelling, he was (my) MOTM for bombing it down the line without purpose against someone in the bottom 3.

My dad even let me phone and vote on the MOTM £3 phone line. I then put my footie boots and ian walker snot green keep top on (mum said it was cold out) and ran around the garden with a ball playing against the dog for an hour

first player i modelled myself on was sheringham as a striker. I used to get picked as a striker in the classic 442 at school for being intelligent (player, not person) despite scoring one goal in 20 games. our win % showed i had some value.

when i started 5 aside i tried to be a mix of Brown and Carrick - as i held the destroyer/passer role well. but i don't think the world understood these roles so well back then. Comically in 11 a side i'm a classic wing back combining the same skills.

and on the LB note, i had two years out and four ops. came back and and now i'm out for another year. some wanker tried to break my leg and tore three ligaments, damaged two more and i'm livid.

Mr R Villa.
And a close second was Bryan Robson after 18 odd seconds at the 82 WC.
