I had the utterly horrible thought pop into head, “You know what? Maybe it was for the best that we lost the CL final? To see that cheapskate fuck Levy dine out on it for the rest of his days would have been galling.”
I thought at the time that it would be papering over the cracks. But I also thought, fuck it, I’d probably call it a day there too. We peaked. But to peak by winning the top trophy. That’s where you need to jump off. There’s not much more you can do under Levy.

Strangely enough Poch said similar and was lambasted for it.

Mate, there's one fan in here trying to defend Levy.

Your post isn't funny, it's just bullshit.
Thanks for trying to keep it on topic. It's real slog trying to evoke a sensible response to my clearly unpopular position. BTW I wouldn't formulate it as a defence of Levy. More a broadening of the perspective.

Since Slot rejected us most of the people in this thread seem to have gone apoplectic with rage. It is worrying as Rogers now seems to be second favourite. If that happens I will gladly join all you loons in calling for Levy's head.

How has Levy managed to be the brain behind building this amazing new stadium that is the envy of all other teams yet at the same time has managed to kill the whole soul and fun of supporting the club?

He's managed it by being clueless about football and consulting a bunch of people equally clueless about footballing matters, all the time being blissfully unaware how incompetent he and his cohorts really are. Commercially he's a genius but in football matters he's a buffoon.

Jose knows.

Yeah, he's right. Although he was also happy being made one of the highest-paid managers in footballing history by "Mr Levy".

Appointing Mourinho was one of a series of terrible footballing decisions made by Levy during the last four or five years. It's part of the reason we are where we are now.

We'll find out on season renewal ticket day
I've had a wobble in the last half an hour. First time I've thought about not doing it. Weirdly the missus is desperate for me to start playing golf for the networking.

Slot was going to pull me back in after this intermission of a season. They're gonna have to do something before renewal day - or genuinely extend the deadline.

Levy reminds me a bit of Del Boy when he becomes a mwillionaire. The episode where Del is moving out of the flat and picks up the phone to do a deal. Rodney reminds him that he doesn't run the business anymore because its over. It feels like that with the stadium. We've moved out of the old Stadium, we no longer need to hunt for bargains all the time. Yet Levy still can't get out of the habit wanting to do deals on everything and get a bargain. He can't change his ways to suit where we are as a club now. I just can't ever see him pushing the boat out to get us competing. We've gone as far as we will ever go under Levy.

It's like this club has this habit of people staying too long. Levy could have walked while we were on top. Now if he ever walks it will be as a villain with the club heading downhill. He'll be like Moura coming off the bench and costing the team points. A shadow of his old self who got us into an amazing position to build on. Yet stayed so long he became tainted by the end.

Bricks and mortar, steel girders and signing up the NFL is the easy bit.

Finding, nurturing and developing talent, alongside a strategy and having a competent manager and coaching staff is not so, especially if you're winging it, and those around you don't have the skills, and the ideas are outdated.

It takes more effort to build something with talent that it does to destroy something through incompetence.

Yep and I say do what's best for you, I'm not saying networking is that thing as all your life decisions don't have to be around work, I just mean people shouldn't renew out of guilt or loyalty, only if it's what they want to do. I think the club has dined out on loyalty long enough and as you say, they're gonna have to do something to show it's not a one way transaction.

I refuse to believe that any manager worth his salts would come in and demand we sell Kane, just not believable at all. No disrespect ITK or WLB intended, but this sounds much more like Levy spin and Slot being told he will have no money unless this happens and refusing to deal with these constraints or in other words DL strikes again.
Every day this club finds another way to let you down, honestly when you think things cannot get any worse or PR etc has got to get better , then it kicks you in the knackers again.

Today has been a bad day for Levy - everywhere you go for you daily read, listen or watch and its Spurs being a laughing stock really. Not a good look and not great to listen to and ultimately not an optimistic outlook.

Ive been watching Succession and I am thinking whether Levy and his so called Board are the same - lots of intimidation and subservient and not really challenging or raising concerns I am certain there is feedback from PR back into Levy and im sure he cares but feel like perhaps he needs someone to shake him up a bit.
