Casemiro banned from United next 3 games. They are not the same team without him.
Liverpool next 3 fixtures, they don’t play again till after international break, City and Chelsea away then Arse at home.
Newcastle wobbling, hopefully don’t win this afternoon. If we can start performing there is every chance of third , never mind 4th. Lloris may be back after international break, poss Sessegnon also.
whether we will perform is another matter but the opportunity is there.
Apparently he gets a 4 game ban as its his second red.

We're two points behind United who have to come to us and our home form is decent, while they have two cups they're still in. Yes they have a game in hand, but they could very well drop points in that like they did to Southampton today.

So why a blunt no?
Sorry, to be a bit more constructive…

I just think it’s unlikely. We yoyo all over the place, but our away form in particular is so bad that I just don’t see it

I feel alot rests on next weekend. Win away against Saints and I think top 4 is really on.

Our application in recent away games has been so poor so I'm not overly confident

I agree. We look pretty toothless away.
Only saving grace js a game a week and no real need for rotation, so barring more key injuries we are in a good space.

If we can get the win against Southampton next Saturday we'll go into the international break in 3rd.

There is not one away game that I would say is a gimme . 16 points for me and we miss out . The reality is we should have 4th sewn up but we beat ourselves far too many time this season with those pathetic performances and 1st halves .

Southampton gonna b very difficult game. There on a new manager bounce. But a win would be massive and is maybe needed if top is 4 to be realistic.

Next mini run of games could well be the most significant period.

Southampton away
Everton away
Brighton home
Bournemouth home

Now nothing is ever certain in this league, especially this season but we need to be taking close to maximimum points from that.

Newcastle and Liverpool away will be ridiculously tough given what's at stake and both of them beat us at home....

But we take a very good points haul from the next four and I'm pretty certain we'll have breaking space that takes some of the pressure off going into the business end of the season.
4 games that have come at just the right time for us too. No guarantees but all winnable (away games should yield a points return of some description) and could go a long way to defining our CL qualification hopes.

Insane to have lost 9 games with a quarter of the season still left and be comfortably in the top 4, much less in the conversation for it. Crazy season.

I dont see the point in qualifying for CL anymore, seriously. All the extra money goes to ENIC and is not invested in the squad. Not to mention our utterly dire performances in the competition. Like drugged elephant on skates.

In the Conference League at least there is an outside chance of winning it, and the trophy itself looks pretty neat.

No chance unless it's taken seriously, same as domestic cups. And Levy decide what the manager should focus on. We should have won the Europa League at least a couple of times. But it's difficult when we don't give it our all. Both Poch and Conte have been fully behind Levy's top 4 target. Mourinho wanted to change the focus to a coming cup final - got the sack

Anyone know what our best winning streak in the EPL has been since its inception?

I think we may have done 5 or 6 games on the trot once, probably under Harry or Poch otherwise we tend to win 3 or 4 at most dont we? I dont think we have ever done what the other top 6 teams have done in the past which is string 10 wins in a row?

With 11 games to go, we would need to win at least 7 and draw 2 to match last seasons points total. Probably wont need 71 points this season though, may get away with 66 points as standard is lower this season which would mean 6 wins out of 11 may be enough.

Looks like it was 9 at the back-end of the 2016/17 season. Only a defeat to West Ham stopped us from winning our final 13 games.

I was a bit concerned yesterday that we again almost threw a 3.0 lead in just 10mins.
They scored one, Forster made a great save, and they fluffed a penalty. On another day thats 3 goals.
Need to defend better than that. We took our foot off the pedal again before the final whistle. Got to stop doing that.

But on another day with better finishing we are 5/6 up by that point. No point wondering about things that didn’t happen as it swings both ways.

We really need to start turning our loses into draws. Of course aim to win every game, but we’ve been terrible at drawing games in recent years.
