If we don’t get Europa would people prefer Conference League or nothing?

It might offer a chance to blood some youngsters but I think I’d rather avoid it altogether tbh.

I'd prefer the extra matches personally. We have much more squad depth than we did a few years back and we need to keep players onboard. We need a manager who will give youngsters a chance too or we'll have a whole load looking at the exit door. We obviously need to shift a few out too but one game a week would be pretty dull imo. I'd also add that any ideas that the Europa Conference or whatever is beneath us is quite ridiculous right now.

I've never really bought into the idea that you should actively try to miss out on a lower level of European football...if you're worried about playing too many games, just leave out the ones that are playing the most often. The worst case scenario is you get knocked out quickly, but that only leaves you in the same situation as if you'd not been in it at all. And the potential upside is you see a few more young players coming through, and squad players get a chance to play themselves into form and compete for a place in the first team.

Let's say we dropped our entire current first choice side for a Europa/Conference game tonight. We'd still be able to put out:

Forster
Sessegnon
(?)
Sanchez
Tanganga
Royal
Sarr
(?)
Danjuma
Lucas
Richarlison

That's nine squad players getting some minutes, and two spaces open for either a first choice player to add some experience and quality, or a youngster to get a taste of first team football. It's not a team that is likely to win the tournament, but it's infinitely more likely to win it than if we don't qualify, and we have the option of phasing in the first team players if we get to the latter stages.

While I would normally say getting in to a European competition is the best option, I don’t see the point in us playing a few matches in the Conference League just to crash out because we don’t care about it. If we can Knick 6th spot somehow I would love us to take a proper run at the Europa. So 6th or 8th for me at this point

I gave up watching every single spurs game this season after the Everton game. I knew we were done as a team after Southampton. Everton confirmed it.

I Still read the forums and listen to the podcasts, just block football out for the two hours of play. My mood has been much better since. Its truly the hope that kills ye, and you can't help but hope for something during a game. I would have been livid watching the Bournemouth game. As it was I just laughed when I saw the score.

Harry will leave, I'm sure if it, and it's a very sad end. But we need an attacking manager in early to start again next year. Or I might not bother. I'm supporting this team since 85, old habits die hard but if the result is misery then I, we, deserve better.

Maybe it's fan loyalty that it the root cause of Levy not respecting us??

100% agree with this. Was going to watch the Bournemouth game and then the sun was out and I just suddenly had an epiphany of "why am I about to spend 2 hours on this" and I couldn't justify it at all.

Me and the fam instead went to the park and had a great day out. Had notifications on my phone so followed the score but was so so much better. The football is objectively not fun to watch, and what's more is also kind of irrelevant as we will have anew manager next season so it's not even like it's part of the journey to something better.

No point investing 2 hours of a weekend on us at the moment especially now the weathers turned.

I'd take any European football. The more games, the better; gives us a chance to ensure everyone is playing, buying into the new manager's ethos, and also gives us hope of maybe – just maybe – taking something seriously for once.

I think it is better the other way round. Better to watch us being shit, that is only 90(+) minutes. But the podcasts and forums, they seem to go on for ever.

Yeah there's a sense of hopelessness and pointlessness about the whole thing.

The Bournemouth game is the first game in years that I've not properly watched and have had on in the background while I did other stuff. Obviously wanted us to win but didn't even feel that deflated when Bournemouth got the winner. Just felt a bit numb.

Last time I felt like this was the Sherwood interim stint. I was living abroad and stayed up until about 3am to watch us lose 2-0 to West Ham and then had to go into work the next day. Probably my lowest point as a Spurs fan.

Can't wait for the season to be over and am tempted to actively avoid watching the Liverpool, Newcastle and United games as I don't think any of them will go well.

Think we're nailed on for 8th as Villa, Brighton and Liverpool are all better than us and have some momentum.

Watching our “reserves” play in the Europa and then the conference, it’s hardly worth it. They just looked disinterested and played crap. Culminating in that 3-0 hammering by Mura.
imagine Tanguy and the rest in the conference. Hoping that Tanguy might get a game for Napoli tonight. Usual midfielder Anguissa is suspended and Tanguy usually comes on for him for the last 10 mins.
I can see Tanguy inspiring Napoli to the semi final prompting a bid from Napoli. I live in hope

Yeah but thats part of mismanagement.

So many other clubs reserves are super motivated by competition for places and want to prove themselves. We have a culture of a first 11 and no matter what people do that doesn't change.

There should be a massive hunger from players not starting to prove their worth.

You seen our fixtures. I think will finish 8th and miss out on Europe completely.

Yep, been a supporter of this team since 1984… this season has pretty much killed it for me. I’ve been around the block with this team, with very little to show for it. If nothing changes, which I doubt it will, I think this is the time I step away and concentrate on what’s really important to me, because spending time and money on this shit show is not going to work out for me much longer

I get that, and it is a shit show for many reasons. But I wonder how you, and others among our support, would have reacted in the mid 1970's when we actually got relegated from the top flight?

To me it was one of the best times, as the support all came together and the atmosphere was superb. Not saying we need to be relegated here by the way!!!!

Now there's a side I could see struggling to get through their Conference League group.
