We won't come as low as 9th, it'll be 8th and bloody Conference League but tbh if it is we should take it seriously as until we are run properly we won't be a true Champions League club again for a while anyway so Conference League will be our new level for now, that is the reality.

Kane will go, our squad is a mess, god help the new manager.
It's an annual confusion on here but I'm fairly certain that 8th will not get a Conference league place

I think someone posted above that this year it would based on league and fa cup winners/finalists?
I could be wrong but I think the fa cup winner( assuming Man utd are top 4) will go to 6th in league instead (Europa)and league cup winner place will go to 7th instead ( conference).
My only query would be if anything else happens if City win CL and/or West Ham win conference.

Most likely we are looking like 8th now. Struggle to see how the squad picks up this season
Yep we are in free fall whilst all around us are on fire, cannot see anything but 8th unless we get rid of Stellini in which case we might nick 1-2 wins in order to sneak 6th or 7th at best.

Unlike most I would still like to qualify for the conference league. The only reason would be a chance to blood some of the younger players (not all at once) in the same way we did Kane when he started in the Europa. If not then when would they get a chance. League and FA cup are both immediate knock out so its not as east there.

And if City win the treble, league, CL and fa cup, will that make a difference to spots given?

Where these qualifications changes a) If the FA Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League, their UEL group stage place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League. b) If the EFL Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League (or top six if (a) happens), their UECL playoff place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League. How does winning UCL/UEL affect qualification? Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's competition regardless of their league finishing position. Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League regardless of their league finishing position. If a club win the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League and finish in the top four, their qualification for the UCL through their league position is not transferred to another team. A maximum of five Premier League teams are eligible for UEFA Champions League qualification. In the event that a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League and another win the UEFA Europa League and neither of these clubs finish in the top four of the Premier League, the club lying fourth in the table will drop into the UEFA Europa League group stage. If a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League and another win the UEFA Europa League and neither have qualified for UEFA competitions through their league positions or by winning the FA Cup or EFL Cup, they will qualify for the UEFA Champions League and the club finishing fourth in the table will drop into the UEFA Europa League group stage. This UEFA Europa League group stage place will be in addition to the one for the club finishing fifth and to the places in the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League for the FA Cup and EFL Cup winners (or for the highest-ranked clubs not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League if the FA Cup and EFL Cup winners have already qualified for UEFA competitions through their league position). The winner of UEFA Europa Conference League is guaranteed a place in UEFA Europa League group stages. If a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa Conference League and do not qualify for the UEFA Europa League via the Premier League or the FA Cup, then they enter the UEFA Europa League group stages as an additional club.

I really don’t understand the fans saying we’ll be better off out of Europe altogether, we factually wouldn’t.
A squad needs games, the team needs European exposure, we’d have more money and be more attractive to better players for our rebuild to.

We must qualify for Europe.

I think that depend son our squad. No point in going to Pacos de Ferreira and lose utilizing your squad forcing you to play your full strength team throughout the 20 games in the competition.

Personally id rather focus on the bread and butter - the league and the two domestics until we build our squad back up to where it needs to be. I would go all out on those three competitions.

I would like us to get conference league.

Because we really should win that shit.

And I’d rather win something small than compete in the others. We need it.

I worry that we won't have a proper clean out if we are in the conference league. We'll need a bigger squad so will end up keeping players that really need to leave like winks and tanganga.

We need a hard reset

We don't have the depth or the quality to play in Europe.

It's a financial hit, but in the longer run, we would be better served forging a new core group of players next season, just playing the league and domestic cups. That would give us a better chance at qualifying for Europe in 24/25, and some time for a new manager/DOF to start building out the squad.

Of course, this assumes that we get in a new manager who can coach, and use the extra time on the training ground to instill his tactics/philosophy. We also stand a better chance at most of our players staying healthy - unlike this season.

This 100%. We need to fall hard and fast so the deep lying issues can be addressed asap and properly this time. This "We just need a couple of top players" and "We were in the CL Final not too long ago" type mentality is just prolonging the downslide.
