keeping redknap will be more important to keeping modric bale VDV for next season than finishing 4th.

Absolutely no way. Couldnt disagree more.

Thats not a pop at Redknapp but the players are more important, redknapp isnt top class. Those 3 are.

I'd find replacing Redknapp easier than replacing them, and that's saying a lot.

Agreed. Sorry, as much as Redknapp has done for us, I really think he doesn't come close to their importance.

I understand what you meant TS, even if those between your post and mine don't. And, by the way, I agree with you on this.

yep

what i mean is they all love him, he will be a key reason for all of them staying. if he takes over england in 2012, god forbid this summer and we are not in the CL i can see them leaving.

The race for 4th isn't over yet. It is very much out of our hands, but if can put some bit of a run together, then we can give ourselves every chance of finishing fourth again.

We have a pretty tough run in, they have an easier one; but Man City will drop points again, if we can captialise on that then we are in with shout.

It could be as close as coming down to goal difference at the end, and we would most certianly lose on that basis, but if we keep the pressure on, then a single point could do it for us.

Regardless of whether we make it or not, it would be great to see us battle right to the end - fans included. If we don't progress any further in the CL and miss out on 4th by a point or on goal difference, then it will have been one hell of a season.

We will come back stronger next year, and hopefully take advantage of City having to play in the prem after playing in the CL.

I think he will stand down at the end of this season to fight his case. If he wins he will take a break before taking over at England, if he doesn't then who knows what will happen to him. Either way I think we will be starting next season with a new manager (Moyes?)

There has been a rumour for some time that Redknapps replacement has been ready and waiting for the past 6 months!

To be perfectly honest, if we don't qualify for the CL I would prefer not to compete in the EL.

If we can hold on to our players and have no European distractions next season, I really think we would have a shot at the title.

Don't get me wrong I want us to qualify for the CL again but, if we didn't, 6th place would be absolutely fine by me!

In a way i agree with you & in another way i dont, yet if we had the same 3 strikers & the same injuries as we have had this season with no European football we would have no chance of winning the Prem.

It's not Rafa is it...

I think Harry will stay, unless Capello get the sack. Harry needs to buy strikers, maybe a back up keeper. Gomes still number 1 but we need a keeper better than Cuidincini.

I can see there being very little between Us, Man City and Arsenal at the end of the season. If we pick up six points in our games against them I think we'll sneak into 4th again.

Can't see us getting fourth this season. Just can't see it happening with all the stupid points we keep dropping against teams from the bottom end of the league.

What worries me more is if we don't get 4th this year I struggle to see us getting back there. If Man City get in then their money + cl football means they probably aren't going to be dropping out of it in the near future. Man U and Chelsea are always going to be there, Liverpool are going to be back next year and as much as I'd like us to I just can't see us finishing about Arse in the the league. We just never do.

This might be our last hurrah in the champions league for the foreseeable future.

Alternatively we might smash Real, Barca and Man U, win the competition and not have to worry about the league!

Only problem is this season Man City isn't the same old City we know, last year they may have the same players but they didn't gel, just like our players few years ago.

I know we have a good record against them, in fact the best record out of all teams who've faced Man City. That's an advantage to pressurise them.

If we can beat two of the 4 tough matches - including Man City, then I think we have a slim chance making 4th.
