Mancini confirms Tevez has torn his hammy, and then says he'll be back in two weeks..maybe. Now I'm no physio, but does that not sound a tad optimistic

I think it something may have been lost in translation but I agree, if it's torn then I think he could be done for the season.

Hehe, don't think Mancini understood the word torn... It's just a twinge by the sounds of it.

I don't think he actually understood the phrase 'Is it torn?' and just replied yes to it

My God Liverpool look lethal with Suarez and Carroll....that looks a pretty tasty trade off for Torres now!

Nah I knew Suarez was good, still cant believe we wern't in for him.

This is massive for us and with Tevez coming off with an apparent torn hammy could prove even more decisive.

I think our chances have gone from 10% to 40/50% in the space of a week.

My God if we were to beat the Scum we would be level on points - game on is an understatement.

we can afford to draw with Arsenal now, so long as we beat City away (assuming we take the necessary points in the other games)

Thats a big assumption obviously. We need to beat the scum IMO, we have to make use of this game hand, its so imperative for me because Chelsea and Liverpool away are simply tougher games.

Wow... City is going to steam roll past all those teams, except us :)

Actually, the race is kinda fair - in a way...

Spurs games - Extremely tough, but we play better against tougher oppositions.

City games - extremely easy, but they play better against weaker oppositions.

I really don't think City's run in is easy.

They haven't won away since boxing day. They should win their home games (except against us, of course!) and have a good chance away to Blackburn and Stoke.

Excluding the game against us, I can see city getting another 10 points.

That means we need 13 points from our games excluding the City game, and then that game will effectively be a playoff like it was last season.

Looking at those fixtures, the most realistic way we'll get 13 is:

Tottenham v Arsenal 3 pts
Tottenham v West Brom 3 pts

Chelsea v Tottenham 1 pts
Tottenham v Blackpool 3 pts

Liverpool v Tottenham 0 pts

Tottenham v Birmingham 3 pts

There's no reason why we can't win all our home games and get one away from home against either Chelsea or Liverpool.

The City game is going to be absolutely massive - luckily I think we'll have the psychological advantage going into it.

Think they will get 12 points and we will get 15 points and miss out on GD :-( We will get beat by Liverpool and Chelsea, win our 4 home games and beat City away again. City will only get beat by us and Everton. We cannot expect West ham or stoke to do anything at their place. Bolton will have nothing to play for any may even have the FA cup final to think about. That only leaves their next game against Blackburn to draw. If we are to get 4th it will definity go to the last game

Mate dont be so gloomy! I dont even think City will beat Blackburn away next, they look toothless away from home.

I'm just thankful that we have a proper sniff again. Had they won tonight the writing would of been on the wall if we had failed to beat Arsenal and the pressure would of been unbearable.

3-0 & Tevez off with a hamstring injury. Oh my! :D That said we shouldn't forget that now Liverpool are only 5 points off us & we have still to play them at Anfield. They're on their way to beating another Manchester club quite convincingly at their place. I think we might have to wish the gooners beat them on Saturday just to peg them back a bit! *gulp*

Five points off us AND we have a game in hand.

3-0 down and Mancini brings on De Jong for Balotelli

 Wow, it's like the Fat Spanish Waiter was possessed by a DullLunacyFootballSpirit. It couldn't cross water, so left him and inhabited Mancini instead:grin:

Also Liverpool dont look that good, it's just city look really really average

:hump: I have honestly felt for a long time now that we are finally gonna get a win at Anfield.
Also, think the Real result is gonna galvinise us like the Pompey Cp semi did last season:beer:

Bolton and Everton are not too far down the table, adn both of them, alone with Blackburn are Nor'West derbies - pride with be at stake.
After watching how resilient Stoke were against us,and seeing Citeh's major attacking threat go off injured tonight, I think you are massively over-exaggerating the odds in favour of them, here.

We can beat Liverpool but we will need to match their superb work rate and then our better quality can prevail.

Still with the obsession that we can't win these games. Our form against these three teams in recent years is actually pretty good, and even though Liverpool game is at Anfield we are better and they are worse than in recent years, and last year they got a massive hand from the ref.
I think we are well capable of 4 points from these three games...it wouldn't surprise me if we took 7.
