Yeah while we’ve been on an improved run of late, the quality of teams we’ve beaten is nothing to write home about. Even against Fulham we were outplayed second half.

As soon as a half decent team puts pressure on us we go back to looking a bit shit.

Felt we needed 10 points or more from the 5 games. 9 doesn't cut it.

11 behind Leicester now, albeit a game in hand probably puts them out of reach.

United win and they will be.

Chelsea not conceding and picking up points consistently puts them in the driving seat.

We needed to stay close to them. I think we could have afforded a draw, simply because it wouldn't have killed our focus or mentality. But a defeat, likely has.

EL or bust for Jose

Bit harsh bringing the FA Cup into it when there was no points up for grabs

That really was a massive fuck up today. We win that game and we have the chance to go ahead of Chelsea for 4th place if we win vs. Villa.

I think it’s past the point of fuck ups. We’re just simply not good enough to get in the top four.

Well, I think we are but our manager is holding us back.
Especially this season where everyone is so inconsistent.
As I said earlier, if you have a front 4 of Son, Kane, Bale and Moura but you only manage 1 shot in 80mins against your fiercest rivals then thats only down to one person, the coach. Especially when your rivals are frankly mediocre at best.
If Burnley played prime Barcelona they'd probably have a better stat than that!

I like the way you've put Loss in capitals just to emphasise the point.

If only football was that simple. The blame ultimately rests with Mourinho, not because I think he went out there with a game plan to sit back, from my POV we were pinned back because Arsenal came with a game plan. They overloaded the flanks, pulled PEH and Ndombele out wide to cover the fullbacks in absence of Son and Bale tracking back and as a result as soon as we had possesion of the ball we had very little option but to smash it long because we'd been so stretched from their fullbacks playing so high.

He should have changed shape or instructed us to concede the spade out wide and allow the cross (much like the home game), instead we were chasing them all over the pitch and once we got hold of the ball instead of recycling it to a CM to hopefully break the lines we went for the 70 yard hoof in the hope the ball would stick to one of the front three.

13pts from possible 30 against London teams this season. Six of those were wins against Palace and Fulham. Just a bit disappointing.

Win our game in hand and we’re only three points behind Chelsea. I know we’ve not been great but our run in still looks relatively kind. Based on historic results in the fixture I had today down as our toughest remaining game and so although I’m gutted we lost I still think top 4 is still a possibility if we approach the remaining league fixtures on the front foot.

Top 4 still possible but today’s performance and result doesn’t bode well for us.

Yeah it’s the performance today that is the real killer. If we had played like we have done in recent weeks and peppered their goal with shots and been unlucky then you’d put it down as one of those days and be hopeful that we could claw back the points.

The real difference between us and Chelsea right now is not just the points gap, it’s the performances. Chelsea look well drilled and look like they can get a big result when they need it.

Even if we caught them on points in the next couple of weeks I just can’t see us getting results against Utd, Leicester and Everton based on today’s evidence. It was back to the stuff we saw a month ago. That’s why today is so damaging.

All eggs in the cups now.

Yeah, I was full of optimism before as I thought we were moving forward with our football but this performance shows that we're still just as capable of serving up crap too.

Going into the Villa game I just don't know if we're going to play good football on the front-foot and score a few, score one and sit back on just that, sit back for the whole game and barely impose ourselves or play well the first half and shit the second, it could really be any one of them.

I really can't remember seeing us so mentally unsure of ourselves. Even under Poch in the last year or so, ok we were good in Europe and not so good in the league, but our performances didn't seem to fluctuate as they are now and especially not as much throughout a single game. It's almost more frustrating that we're just not consistently shit because it leaves you pulling your hair out when you see us in the game against Palace and then go on to see us today. I'm honestly so baffled by this team at the moment.
