Swansea game crucial. If Leicester drop points I think we will do it. Come on Gylfi!

I don't think it's crucial to the point of being depressed if they win it. I expect them to win even without Vardy, but his absence does make it more difficult for them. It's their last three games that represent our best chance to make up the points.

Dear Mr. Sigurdsson,

I’m not just saying this but, seriously, you were a fave player of mine and I was disappointed when we sold you. My boys and I always used to shout “Siggi” for you in our ridiculous mock-Icelandic accents. I’m glad that your career has continued successfully since you rejoined Swansea. Some great goals this year by the way.

Now, what I want to talk about is your match this weekend against Leicester. Back in December you lost 0-3 to them in what I think was Garry Monk’s last game. You Swans were all short of confidence and cohesion at the time. Mahrez scored a hatrick.
Please tell your teammates it’s time for revenge. A draw will do, although a victory for Swansea would be better. You are no mugs under Mr. Guidolin. You have some pretty decent players as you demonstrated at WHL recently, plus a couple of very good ones, including Ashley Williams and yourself. As Flappy-Handski showed against us, he was unfairly under-rated at Arsenal.

So, Gilfi, please be assured your old Spurs friends will all be rooting for you (and Kyle too, if he plays). As you bend one of those trademark free-kicks past Schmeichel, I promise that my boys and I will be screaming out “Siggi” !

Sincerely,

@minesadouble

hope Fabianski doesn't have the same Fabregas feelings.

If we win all 4 they need 3 wins and I just don't they will get them. I think they will get 1 win 2 draws and a loss. They'll lose at utd, draw with chelsea and swansea and beat everton. That means we can win it with 3 wins and a draw. In normal circumstances that is what we would expect from those games.

I think we will do it I really do. They draw with Swansea and it is ours I tell ya!

5 points is an incredibly low estimation. I'd say their worst case would be 7 points. But I think they will be still good enough to get two wins and two draws. Putting it that 1 point out of reach.
I agree with the above posts, if Leicester drop anything against Swansea, then there's a real chance.
Loving the performances but not getting too excited just yet.

Agree- which means anything other than a Leicester win is a welcomed bonus

No, but clearly with Arsenal playing at Man City they can't both get 3 points from the game. I was talking about the mathematical possibilities, not the likelihood of what might happen.
Sorry if i misunderstood..you did say ''their run in is easy, apart from away to Man C.'' I just raised that Sunderland away could not be considered easy...

After tonight's result in the Newcastle vs Man City game, we need 6 points from 12 available (or 5 points if we're discounting any insane goal difference swings) to confirm a top 3 finish and guarantee that we'll be playing in the group stages of the Champions League next season.

They don't need 3 wins though. They need 2 wins and 2 draws of we win all 4. That's why that last minute Leicester pen was hugely significant

Well, for a team aspiring to top 4 it SHOULD be easy. That said, this season no games are really easy and there have been a lot of surprising results.

We really need Newcastle to be either staying up or already down by the time we play them.

This is essential.

Not going to happen, everything will go to the last day. The title, top 4 and relegation.

Brace yourselves its going to be a stress fest.

Isn't it 4 points?

City are 7 behind, Arsenal 8 with a game in hand

So if both win all their games then its:

city + 12 points (5 above us)
arsenal + 15 points (7 above us)

but they play each other, for the smallest maximum value the worst possible result is a city win, which means -3 points for arsenal

city + 12 points (5 above us)
arsenal + 12 points (4 above us)

With GD, 4 points will secure 3rd place.

If they have to win it then they'll play right into our hands. They'll go all out blazing and we'll do them on the counter like last night.

Exactly, if anything we want them in that position because it means they have much to lose as we do, as long as we play smart we will do them on the counter, I am confident our defense is good enough to keep them out.

Important thing about Newcastle City result is that if Utd beat Palace tomorrow it's game on for them for top four and they will be fighting for their life against Leicester.
