intresting many people aren't including Lennon. Is the consensus that he will be replaced?

and forget the Jol thing I was just making a point that I miss the guy i suppose. Thought we were playing better football with him than we are now and if he had been given the money to buy Woodgate,Hutton AND a decent creative midfielder: Modric then mabye he could have taken us to great heights?

anyway, happy with Ramos and hopefully he does build us a 'dream team' this summer.

Neuer

Hutton Woodgate King Bale

Lennon Lucho Veloso Modric

Keane Berbatov

Reckon that could do more than just top 4 as well - maybe even challenging at the top after a season bedding in.

My team, with realistic targets in it and with the realistic assumption that Berba gone, would be....

GK - Ben Foster if available, if not then Chris Kirkland.

LB - Bale

RB - Hutton

CB's - Woodgate & King. If King cannot play then Van Buyten

RW - Lennon, I would love Bentley but feel he aint gonna join us and would rather go to one of the top 4.

LW - Capel

CM - Diarra (from Pompey)

CM/PLAYMAKER - Modric

ST - Keane

ST - Bent

I'd say it's more likely that Mick Jagger will be playing striker for us next season than Benzema. It would be niiiice though.

I would like a team along the lines of:

------------Jääskeläinen------------
Hutton----Woodgate---Dunne----Bale
---------------Cana----------------
Lennon---------Nasri-----------Modric
-------Elmander/Bent---Keane--------

subs:
A younger promising keeper, how good is Alnwick?
Kaboul
Gilberto
Elmander/Bent
Jenas
Malbranque
O'hara
Kevin Prince Boateng

I would take both Nasri and Cana from Marseille. Of course I haven't seen nearly enough games to actually comment on their potential but Nasri is very entertaining and Cana seems completely insane but with a spark of real technical skill. Like a good Robbie Savage or something. As far as youtube scouting goes, they are an awesome duo. This midfield is way too young though. But hey, fantasy right?

I don't trust King to stay fit and Dunne is a class premiership player.

Johan Elmander is an ideal signing to me he will keep running and running no matter if we are up three at the JJB or down two at Old Trafford. He has a pretty solid shot and produces a fair ammount of goals at a less than impressive Toulouse where he is deployed as a lone striker - a position I'm not sure is ideal for him. His playing style seems perfect for the premiership and I would like to see him and Bent battle it out for the spot next to Keano.

Jääskeläinen seems pretty self explanatory.

huntlaar if berba leaves cause keane is amazing with a tall striker i would prefer him to eto'o or villa as he a keane would be better

Well I was initially just going to get him to check the definition, but then saw the spelling and couldn't resist.

Fair enough, not my proudest moment. But the fella had Villa and Berbatov in a 'realistic' team, which is just silly.

I have only included players we have been linked with, so I would say it isn't that far fetched to be honest.

It's interesting so many people see Modric playing central midfield. The guy looks class but central midfield in your first year of the premiership I don't see happening. From the little I have seen he plays on the left and drifts ala Hleb does at the gooners.

It's also very interesting to see everyone pick relatively the same defence.

I'd go for:

------------ Neuer / Skelenberg -----------
Hutton ----- King ----- Woodgate ----- Bale
Jenas --- Veloso ---- Huddlestone --- Modric
------------ Keane ---- Bent --------------

Realistically I think that IF Berba leaves we will invest the money in a GK, DC, MC and FC.

GK - We need 1 quality and if Robbo leaves a back up - I would seriously look at Westwood from Carlisle as a decent up and coming back up.

DF - Would love to see Woody and King start every game together but its no going to happen. Dunne on a free would be a good piece of business and Kaboul and Daws shouldn't be writ off as they have been by many fans. Gilberto and Bale will probably alternate and Hutton should start every game he is fit.

MF - We need cover for the defence and a platform to build on. Scoring goals isn't a problem but yet again this year the team that conceded the least won the title. Having 2 defensive minded midfielders might make us less potent attacking wise but would surely help plug the leaks. That would also allow us a platform for Modric to wander. Jenas on the right is something I think should be seriously considered, he has a great engine and will be under less pressure than in the centre.

FC - IF Berba leaves we need to bring someone in but would love to see Bent get a chance. He hasn't been outstanding this season but he is a finisher and think he will score goals if we play to his strengths.

True.

On top of which, a 'realistic dream' is an oxymoron, isn't it? A bit like 'necessary evil' or 'Microsoft works'

I was trying to remember that term! beat me to it.

was eventyping bittersweet into google to see if anything came up
