Who has said we are going to get good value for our players?Fans really have their heads in the sand if they think we are going to get good value from all our trash and its not bloated to fuck.
The facts are in the last 5 seasons each summer we have sold players for these amounts.
Summer 2022 - 38m
Summer 2021 - 31m
Summer 2020 - 13m
Summer 2019 - 64m (including Eriksen to Inter in the winter)
Summer 2018 - 0
It's atrocious performance. I don't understand where people think coming of our worst season for a decade teams are going to start clamoring over themselves to buy our shit players.
Our net spend is 450m in the last 5 years and our wage bill has gone through the roof, Levy will not like the latter the most. Maybe Levy will keep going but my sense is that we are going to be shifting out a lot of shit for no money and that won't create conditions for this ownership to pump in another 150m, that they are probably upset at wasting last summer.
We can release/not buy Moura, Danjuma and Lenglet. There were a few stories that Perisic wants to go back to Inter. I'm sure we'd happily send him back for free.
Dier, Sanchez and Lloris' deals all expire next summer. Lloris we can possibly sell but get pretty much nothing for. We might get a small fee for Sanchez. My guess is Dier stays, our big hope is we don't offer him a new contract.
So we won't be recouping much money on player sales. But it still needs to be done.
