Annoyingly they’ve come out of this rut at exactly the wrong time (from an Ospreys perspective)

We’re 2 points clear going into our home game on Saturday but if I had to put my house on it I’d say, come the end of the following week, that we’ll miss out.

Great couple of weeks though. Sarries and Clermont are 2 of the best (if not the 2 best) teams in Europe

Yeah unfortunately for your lot I suspect Sarries are back in the groove now, so I do think Sarries and Clermont will prevail.

Not exactly a disgrace to not get out of that group though. Meanwhile I've got to go to a 5.30pm kickoff on Saturday to watch Quins play in a game that they have made completely irrelevant by playing like a bunch of uncoordinated flamingos in the competition so far.

We both wrote off our respective teams chances in this thread several
months ago. You were right to do so but it’s nothing short of a miracle that we’ve still got a half chance so I’m ok with falling at the last hurdle (or 2) tbh.

I just hope we keep the score line respectable but I’m not so sure with the injuries.

Another blow for us is losing the young Owen Watkin at 12. Really good prospect but seeing as it took about 20mins to get him off the pitch against Cardiff the other day I think it’s safe to say his season is done too.

We need Webb, Biggar, AWJ and Tipuric to have monster performances to stand any kind of chance.

You plastic fucker. ;)

You’re not proper like TSH. Poor **** has had to put up with watching Quins all his supporting life and you just prance about from team to team.

I hear Itoje loves West Glamorgan and is likely to sign for the Ospreys one day. Your kind won’t be welcome at the Liberty when he does.

I don't know why it is. When I started supporting Spurs I was stuck with them for life, but it just hasn't happened with rugby. Even what I was at Uni in Bristol, I was favouring Bath for rugby.

It does make it a lot less stressful to watch rugby than football.

For the record though, I don't think Sarries are a shoo-in to qualify just yet.

For the record I don’t think they’re shoo-ins either. Just favourites.

Right, I’m not Malers biggest fan but that was a very harsh red and a ridiculously harsh ban. A yellow would’ve been fair but he doesn’t really make contact with his head like the ref said he did. I also saw that elbow on him which was far worse but went unpunished.

Actually feel a bit sorry for him.

Good to see Liam Williams is in contention to play against Ospreys. Need him for Wales. Moriarty too.

I think the ban is harsh, although largely based on previous idiocy. The Sale player who elbowed Marler only got 2 weeks and it was the same entry level offence (whatever that means).

As for whether it's a red or not, I think it's the fact that the guy wasn't really in any need of being cleared out and he leads with the forearm, but despite my initial reaction he doesn't actually make contact with the head which suggests that it shouldn't have been an immediate ref.

I think a player who isn't Marler may not get a red, and certainly wouldn't get 6 weeks. But Marler only really has himself to blame for getting that reputation in the first place.

This is it for me, the ref just got it wrong he said he made direct contact with his head, if he did he might have a point but he didn’t. WTF the review panel we’re looking at I have no idea.

You’re right it was needless and a little bit silly but was it dangerous? Most definitely not imo.

Anyone watch that Bath V Scarlets game at The Rec last night?

Bath got destroyed. Scarlets scored 2 tries when they were down to 14 men. As much as it pains me to say they really do play some brilliant stuff and they had quite a few injuries but you wouldn’t of noticed.

Just watched the highlights and it looks impressive. I think Bath are down a few on injuries as well but still a fantastic result for Scarlets.

Looks like they play a great offloading style like when Quins were good (oh for the days).

It is good to see the Welsh clubs performing in Europe. Makes the whole competition so much more interesting.

Exeter v Montpellier today should be a hell of a game.

Yeah, looking forward to that Exeter game as well as the Ospreys v Sarries game, obviously.

Relentless from Exeter. Not always the prettiest to watch but bloody hell its effective.

Also just to say I bloody love BT's rugby coverage. Puts Sky and the Beeb to shame.

Why does Olly Woodburn not get a look in at international level? He's consistently fantastic.

Also Sam Simmonds is a real star in the making. Hope England try him at 7.
