Helps as in any sport when you've the ref in your pocket.

Par for the course for a rugby match in Ireland. They cheat like fuck and the ref gives them everything.
Bit harsh that. I think we've done well today.

You mean like the line out he just inexplicably gave Wales, then penalised O'Mahoney for nothing? Ireland have just been much better than Wales.

Sorry mate. To be fair all you've had to do is turn up, refs given you everything. Wales pinged for hanging on, Ireland get 5 seconds in same scenario. Constant offsides, blocking, obstruction, etc. you do it as well as the all blacks do but constant kicking and up the jumper aside it's just been the ref constantly stopping Wales getting any momentum from minute 1.
Edit: you've been the hungrier side though, can't argue with that.

From what I've watched we've stopped Wales at their game. They look pure average today and the ref has had nothing to do with that.

Fair enough mate. We'll agree to disagree. Agree Wales have been average and made mistakes but it's laughable at the breakdown. I could call at least 2 penalties every time. All we want is consistency and old Barnes has had a shocker.

Was not expecting that! Thought Ireland would win but not so convincingly.

Favourites for the championship after two games.

Wales were pretty poor I have to say. Too many handling errors, too many penalties. Ireland much the better team.

As a neutral observer, the idea that it was in any way down to the refereeing is ludicrous, but I guess emotions are running high. The only bad decision I saw was giving Wales the throw on their 5m line after Halfpenny knocked the ball out.

England / Ireland will be interesting; more so if England manage to beat Scotland.

Off the top of my head, first half Scott Williams should have been penalised for an illegal tackle on O'Driscoll, but wasn't. Wales got a penalty for not binding at the scrum, even though Adam Jones wasn't binding properly. It would have been in kickable range for Ireland. Second half Halfpenny put the ball into touch five metres from his own line but the lineout was given to Wales. The way Ireland's lineout has been today, and considering how they scored their first try and how their pack has dominated Wales they would have had a chance to score again. Then at the lineout O'Mahoney was penalised for taking the man out in the air, even though replays showed he didn't at all, he challenged fairly for the ball. Subsequently Wales went up the other end and nearly scored themselves. Even just now, Liam Williams should have been penalised for the way he went in on Paddy Jackson as he scored, but again was let off. So to claim the referee has been against Wales all game is total horseshit.

Ireland have just been much, much better. Their lineout has been superb, their front row has been better than Wales (who started with their strongest front row), Sexton's kicking from hand has been excellent and given Ireland lots of good territory. Wales haven't really got going, Roberts has only made about one break, North has barely had a touch, and I can hardly remember Cuthbert getting involved.

Complete domination. Over powered them in every phase. O'Mahoney is unbelievable. Out-played three lions in the back row. The great thing is the backs haven't fully clicked yet.

Not sure how Philips stayed on the field either. He was warned numerous times for mouthing off all game. It kept getting away with it.

We still have to go to England and France. We're pretty shit in France, although I don't think they've been great the past 12 months.

Lol. We'll call it a good Irish win mate and leave it at that. I'm not going to pick out loads of incidents that I could. Agree with the halfpenny line out, Driscoll tackle thought was 50/50 but at least twice Driscoll was stood offside at the breakdown blocking the oncoming tacklers. Agree about the last Irish try, thought that was well naughty. Phillips was just frustrated at Wales getting pinged constantly and would have clocked Kearney if he hadn't gone off lol.
Great win for Ireland as I say but it played out exactly as I thought it would.
Bring on Scotland/ England, should be a corker.

In the spirit of Anglo-Scottish unity, I would just like to say that I hope England hammer the Scots today.

A try at Murrayfield, who'd have thunk it? Burrell picks some nice lines, but that was easy.

This pitch is terrible.
