Sven Misilat (sp?) who just left arsenal would be perfect for us.

Look what he did at Dortmund.

Only left arsenal because of a falling out with chiefs there.

Porto captain Hector Herrera on a free transfer could be a shrewd signing as could Hirving Lozano from PSV if we are going Mexican

I've always liked Herrera. He's a tidy player. Surprised he's never been plucked from Porto. Maybe he just likes it there.

OK, but ask yourself, if he fell out with a board at Arsenal that was reluctant to spend money on his preferred targets, how would he get along with Mr Levy?

Fuck all these future stars, we should look to sign established talent now. Of course there are exceptions e.g. de ligt, ndombele, brooks but yeah. Future stars ain't gonna win us titles unless you're willing to wait another 5 years. Need a mix

Lol we don't have the money to buy established talent now at the level we need. I really don't understand why it needs to be pointed out.

Also, he's asking for a mix, but Lloris, Verts, Son, Dele, Kane are now all established stars. What this squad is now lacking is a little bit of youthful zest in my opinion. We've lost that pace, and relentlessness we had in earlier seasons because a lot of these players have played an awful lot of football, and picked up a load of niggles and injuries they have to nurse themselves through.

We’re at a cross road and what we do next is so very important. I honestly feel after thinking about our model ie development players and potential, now is the time to attack the market when we’re relatively hot. It will work out cheaper overall providing we get the right player

I agree the squad needs reinvigorating. I think that will happen as JJ said recently that the plan was always to spend money this summer. with Dembele gone, Llorente's and Vorm's contracts expiring, Alderweireld and Eriksen possibly leaving. We should have room to make that happen. I don't think we will ever sign established talents though, only teams that can afford to have a whole squad on big wages can do that. Like we have done previously with Alli, Dier, Eriksen, Sanchez, Son etc.. we'll look to sign really talented youngsters who can develop into world class players.

But as @King of the Lane pointed out, injecting this 'youthful zest' will just repeat the cycle. Because they're youth they don't have the experience required to win titles, which therefore means we just nearly do it/put the pressure on. The established stars e.g Dele, Son leave to win titles. We then sign youth again to play with the now experienced players (then youth) that we bought. And repeat. It's pretty easy to see.

before making comments like that, why not wait till the summer and see what we do, do. ITK said we had money last summer. they also said Levy wouldn't purchase till we sold because of our squad size.

people need to understand we CANNOT HAVE A SQUAD OF 30 PLAYERS!!! sorry for shouting, but getting tired of posting the same thing over and over again. we can't pay players not included as well as shell out money to buy players, and pay them also, on top of all the other staff in the club

if we have to do that till we can compete big, then that's the way it has to be. we have just been unfortunate that our 2 best squads since 1987 have come at a time when we are not playing even close to level terms with City, United and Chelsea, or even Liverpool at a time when we haven't been able to compete in the financial market. the 1 year we might of had a chance money wise was a summer of turmoil

There's the thing nearly doing it/putting pressure on trophy or whatever anyone chooses to call it is what we do and difficult to see changing anytime soon.
We probably do have the money to go bigger but choose not to because our strategy is less risk and money involved, should we expect experienced players in no is the answer I suspect poch won't even ask the question as he already knows so nothing changes from here is the way I see it.

Depends how well we do with sponsorship and naming rights once the stadium is up and running. Whatever happens we'll be on a tight budget, but we're not skint.

Who mentioned 30. We need to get better quality players, Pochettino and Levy need to be ruthless in releasing players that ain’t good enough.

we had a squad of 28 senior players in the summer. we HAD to sell before we could buy to even consider quality

Let's hope we don't make the same mistake contracts wise this summer and free up some positions.

Genuinely think he'd be OK if we never signed a player ever again.

not at all, but you seem to forget that if we had bought a few this season and been overloaded because we failed to sell, players that might of been left out as they were up for sale was Toby, Rose and Sissoko. then you have to hope the players brought in bed in

It will be interesting to see how failing to qualify for the CL (if we don't finish in the top 4) affects the level of cash we can command from naming rights for the NWHL! If we end up finishing 7th, what happens the?!!

I think Project Pochettino requires CL for next season to have any chance of succeeding.
