Édit: @heelspurs wanna share vinnys mum in pm with me ?
You are Lukaku.Take it to PM because nobody cares.
I'll be your huckleberry. I'm game for any kind of debate you'd like to have. But as far as this is concerned you know what I'm saying. This is a binary outcome, we get top 4 or we do not utilizing the same no-transfer condition. Just because we may do it (and prolly should ahve already) does not mean if we repeated the experiment the same outcome would be 'guaranteed'. this could be our chance outcome. And if you are as intelligent a you fancy yourself then you will understand that without attempting to impress me with philo 101 words. We already have a grammar thread so I don’t think we need a semantics thread but...
When you say it « may » lead to a different outcome, are you
1) making a tautologous statement about all outcomes that aren’t certain
2) implying that the good results we had this season were incredibly unlikely and that we got away with it for reason X or Y
3) something else altogether ?
Good For You Vinny. Good For You!Take it to PM because nobody cares.
Remember it's all about attitude for Poch, he's probably seen something he doesn't like about Tielemans, preferring the grit and spirit of a Grealish.
Isn't that what Eriksen does for us?
That's a long queue my friend. Not sure either of us have the time...or if it would be worth it at the end.
He's been mentioned before by many of us, but Phillip Billing absolutely fits what Poch wants in a CM. Absolute unit, aggressive in the tackle, has shown the ability to spread the ball around a bit and would likely see a boost in passing accuracy with a more attack minded side. At 22, he also would bring some youth to midfield and would likely come at a reasonable fee. Would he be an amazing signing? Likely not. But, he does make a ton of sense and should give us some decent depth in an area we are so desperate for it.
If we sell Wanyama, he's probably a good bet as far as the replacement.
Why do people keep mentioning Grealish as a CM? He's never been a CM and he doesn't play CM for AV.
I’m not trying to impress ou but I will keep it simple for you.I'll be your huckleberry. I'm game for any kind of debate you'd like to have. But as far as this is concerned you know what I'm saying. Hmm, Villa usually play a 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1 with one holding player and two players in-front, Grealish being one of them.
He picks the ball up in all sort of areas, sometimes off the centre-backs, sometimes out wide and drives forward - I'd say he's a central midfielder for Villa nowadays.
Think he'd be a great fit for us, because of how our fluid our formations are.
Not does he have a great deal of end product, he’s a decent player but not the messiah/scapegoat he’s being set up to be
I’d have serious doubts about Grealish in a midfield 2,I doubt there’s any evidence of him playing in one, let alone successfully
To be fair, only I'm doing that. Everyone else is simply saying he'd offer what we currently lack.
He has ability, some attributes we could benefit from but I feel he’s being set up for a hiding to nothing, he’s a good player but I doubt he’s the world beater he’s being painted as on here at times
It's possible that Poch doesn't like admitting he was wrong. I think that Tielemans looks class and at a reasonable price. I can understand. however, that if Poch told Levy that Tielemans wasn't good enough, it would be hard to admit he had changed his mind.
Good because it didn't. No reason to keep it simple with me, just germane.I’m not trying to impress ou but I will keep it simple for you.
And here is where the disconnect comes in. Did he say that? Or did he say:The post you replied to said it was guaranteed that we would finish top 4 having made no signings BECAUSE WE HAVE. Things that have already happened are certain to have happened .
Surely there is a difference between your statement and his. And that is why I replied with:Can you gaurentee me that any new signings would have got us CL semi and 3rd? I don't think you can
I can gaurentee you buying nonone would, because we have.
Sure, there is a comma missing but it should still be clear. Writing as you did closes it and makes it only pertinent to this one situation. His styling leaves it open as if it is a sound strategy to have utilized which is why I brought up this being a 'chance outcome'. Some are fooled by chance outcomes and are foolish enough to believe it vindicates the initial strategy. Happens every week on here with folks saying X scored so Y made a great substitution.*Did not would.
I don’t agree with you but I’m so glad there are people on here making intelligent arguments that I can engage with and make me think.Good because it didn't. No reason to keep it simple with me, just germane.

I think I made an opportunity cost argument on here recently re: Dele vs another player with sound technique and less of a penchant for profligacy. In this instance there may have been, and may yet be, a significant op-cost. @doctor stefan Freud was making this same argument to you. We could have sewed this up months ago. We could have maybe challenged for the league. We could have a stronger squad going into these CL games. No guarantees but we have 3+ roster spots open-ish so there is no reason to suspect our results would have been any worse.
Not sure whether this was to bait me or @heelspursI don’t agree with you but I’m so glad there are people on here making intelligent arguments that I can engage with and make me think.
Ultimately it’s all onions (never heard that before here..!) and judgement. Only God and BBLG know the truth.
