Pleased Winks is doing so well, thought yesterday was one of his best games and after calling for him to be in the first team for 2 years glad to see he is really getting his chance and doing what he has been doing for the youth sides. The feints. The heart energy and passing have been great. Love the ball to Trippier. Got caught dawdling twice but a good game to experience that. Not a massive risk in that type of game but something he will need to learn from. Still so inexperienced so will have to learn quickly, as he hasn't come through lower leagues or had loans he doesn't have 30 odd league starts under his belt where he'll know all of this. He has one so will have to learn quick. Very optimistic for his future

are you going tonight @IGSpur?

i'm guessing it could be a strong team again as all of the bottom three won yesterday which puts us in a bit of trouble. obviously results at this level don't mean much but we still want to be competing against what are in theory the best sides - plus we can't go down as then none of our games will be streamed(by the likes of utd, chelsea, liverpool etc) :p

No KWP or Edwards in the PL2 side. Interesting.

Don't think we can draw much from it, other than further confirmation that they're part of the squad. WInks only played one u23s game last year IIRC and made about 2 appearances for the first team.

Similarly Onomah and CCV have only played one game this year and aren't swimming in appearances. Would obviously love to see them feature but can't see it.

Na didn't make it. Hopefully we can hold on though, as you say there are more benefits playing in the top tier not least we can watch more games being streamed

Yeah lads, just a sign that KWP and Edwards are now at Winks (last season), Onomah or CCV status within the squad. Training full-time with first-team, and not playing with u23s. The Liverpool game the other week was a strange exception to the rule. Wouldn't read anything into this with regards to Thurs.

Maghoma started for England u16s as they beat Italy 3-1. They came 2nd in the tournament
What level of prospect is Maghoma seen as? Seems to play every game for England, but certainly doesn't seem to have the hype of TOB or Kirby from last season. I presume he's a big prospect but just not quite of their level?

Goal! Hinds find the corner from close range following good work from Shashoua down the left. 1-0.

I probably haven't seen Maghoma as much as TOB and Kirby but I have still seen a fair hit of him. He is a very good prospect.

He is a top player, calm on the ball, good carrier, but a good forward passer. Think he has started well at u18s. I think the reason Kirby, TOB and Skipp got more hype is because they were generally as good or better than the age group above so played both whereas Maghoma would play up but generally had the aforementioned 3 blocking him. He is a real prospect though and another silky player on the ball. He's our only Eng regular in that age group.

Great to see Hinds getting goals. Has all the makings of being a top player think only real questions over his game are around his ability to get forward. He does it well but maybe more calculated. Today showing he knows what to do in the other half

I really want to see Shashoua at U23 level now, especially if Edwards isn't being considered for that level as he is with the first team.
