Only after finding out Kenny Jackett has been coaching in our academy since the turn of the year, completely missed that.

first kirby and now this kid, i'd hoped that if we left chelsea alone then they'd do the same but obviously that isn't going to be the case. we will probably just lay down and let it continue to happen but if it was up to me i'd go straight to their best player not yet tied up(hudson-odoi) and offer him a fast-track deal into the 1st team, maybe that would deter chelsea from poaching from us again in the future - probably not but worth a go.

I think McDermott and Pochettino are both advocates of taking the higher ground. We want that culture throughout the club so needs to filter from the top.

i was going to bring this up recently but thought maybe it's just coincidence how he hasn't been in any of the recent pics but it's been about four weeks worth now and he's not in any of them. not seen him traveling with the squad or behind the bench at games either and that coupled with him featuring more for the u23s than before suggests he's not with the 1st team any more. worrying.

that's my worry as well and i'm not sure marcus is the type who'll be happy sitting on his hands waiting for uncle poch to let him know when he's ready.

Maybe it's that the pics focus on more prominent members of the squad? The vast majority of gettypics seems to be of Dele and Dier randomly cuddling, Lloris looking wistful and immaculately coiffured, Son laughing at apparently nothing, Kane lining up a shot from 46 yards - stuff like that rather than a youth product with one first team sub appearance gamely taking part.

Edwards would be crazy if he didn't want to sign a new contract. There are very few managers that promote youth players more than Poch, it's his entire MO and exactly what the club is geared up to do with the stadium build.

If Edwards is not around the first team at the moment it is for one of two reasons.

Either he is not ready to be called upon at the business end of the season so it's been deemed more beneficial to get game time with the u23's. Or he simply isn't working hard enough to warrant it, and we know that is how Poch works.

Either way I don't see him leaving. We need that type of player, we need youth players in the first team squad and he could not be at a better club right now

it's possible, but still unlikely. look at how many there are of kwp for example and as you say there are usually a lot of group shots too, if you go back through every week then you'll see him at least a few times in each set but none in about the past four weeks.

i like that he's now playing more u23s but it seems that for whatever reason, he's been bumped down from 1st team training(where he's been full-time since the start of the season more or less). if he's not working hard enough then he responded well in the last u23 game against everton as i think that's the hardest I've ever seen him work off the ball - and he was his usual quality-self on it.

whilst poch does look to bring through young players he seems to have a system in place where it's done over a long period of time. he likes them to have 12 months traveling/training with the 1st team, then another 12 months where they might get to sit on the bench a few times and then 12 months where they might get to see a little pitch time here and there. rightly or wrongly, i just don't think edwards is willing to wait that long and there players his age or younger at other clubs who are featuring more regularly so he might look at them and think he needs to move. i doubt he thinks he should be starting in our title run in but the odd sub appearance here and there would've been nice, there have been plenty of times in the past few months where the game has been over by 60 minutes but poch doesn't deem low-pressure situations to be beneficial to the younger players.

Definitely been the better side should have a lot more Tanganga's winning everything in the air, and shows some impressive long range passing off his left foot.

Really impressed by Hinds must have created 4/5 chances consistently picking the right pass. So annoying he hasn't played more and they didn't use Eyoma at CB.

Also very strange atmosphere today very down, can't find the word for it. I assume it's because of Ugo. They did a minutes silence and gone on from there. What you think @edson
