The black player numbers are interesting.I always felt being such a multi cultural society that one day we would benefit from this in our football. We almost have a gene pool now in this country from every corner of the world.Amazing how far we've come from 30 years ago when a black player was so rare.

So there was two tweets about the photo that referred to Edwards, one said he is the bad boy of the band and someone asked him what did he do and someone replied hand placement lol

The other said he looks like he has an attitude problem, which imo is more down to him looking like a young black kid who isnt smiling and people mistake that for an attitude

Yet there was countless more racism post about this being team africa

So I dont know how anyone can take this for murmurings for an attitude problem, there is a bigger conspiracy it seems that the FA wants to make white players a minority judging by the tweets

Marcus in no way has an attitude problem, but because he doesnt look the nicest kid people are taking it as one. He's a fucking a teenager, anyone who knows or works with teenagers knows they can be moody shits

He isnt like ravel morrison or the ilk, he is a good kid off the field

Yeah tbh I probably put 2+2 together and came up with 5.

Those idiots who are whinging about there being so many black faces in the team do my fucking head in. Maybe if young black kids weren't pushed into sport by teachers with appallingly low expectations for them academically, there might not be such a disproportionately high number in elite sport.

How did Edwards perform in England's win over Bulgaria?

don't know as it wasn't televised. on the plus side though his hand placement has improved since the other day:

IG you seem very knowledgeable, not sure if you can answeer these questions .But just wonder where we sit in EPL terms in .

1.How much we spend on the academy in relation to others .Presume we are in top 5 but what position?

2.How would you rate our pulling power.Obviously every kid is an individual case dictated by family mattes. But would you say we can compete with city Chelsea in a straight fight for a kid?

Not sure how much we spend compared to other academies and whether there is a limit etc. but as a Category 1 under the EPPP we put in around 2m per year, but someone who knows more can correct me.

If we competed with Chelsea or City for a kid I think essentially money and their quality coaching and facilities mean they will always be favourites to pick up the best teenage talent. Our best bet is getting them in at u10 level. I can't blame them either as they know they will become really good players but also get good loans and almost guarantee league football, though not necessarily Prem football. However, as we've seen with Solanke, Kemp, Brewster and Quina they got their education then have moved on to other PL clubs where they are more likely to get a chance. So if they're clever like that you'll get money quality coaching and still get to use them.

What's the general feeling on Ccv doesn't seem to be that much spoken about him.Do we think he could step up this year and get significant mins ?

I think CCV is a good defender. He acquitted himself well in his matches, the only 'fault' I found in his game was he didn't show the same confidence in his passing as he would do in youth football and held onto the ball too long or looked for the simple more than he'd usually do. The only time he appeared to struggle and fans questioned whether he was ready, was the game we he faced the biggest and strongest striker in the football league who also bullied Dier. Hardly think its fair to judge him on that. Hopefully he does well in preseason and get some confidence but the issue is you don't rotate CBs so I struggle to see where he'll get game time this year

Imagine a 343 with Edwards and Mount behind Brereton. Sterling at RWB and either DaSilva or Sessegnon at LWB. Would be such a great formation however he wouldn't accommodate both DaSilva and Sessegnon.

On DaSilva if we're not getting Sessgnon I'd 100% go for him when his contract runs down, proper quality player

Sounds like Walkes had a good game this weekend. Maybe he'll be another Jake Livermore; really unispiring at Academy level but always does 'just enough' to be retained, only to burst through and make it as a PL regular, and a reasonable one at that.

I'd still be surprised if he made it. He has had the right coaching, has a great attitude and physical qualities, but if he made it to the PL I'd have hoped we would have given our more talented players a chance. He seems like a safe option type player, who will run around and work hard, a managers dream but is more risk averse. If he was to play RB he wouldn't get dominated as much and do a good enough job, but someone like KWP is smaller but has so much more potential but the risk in him getting bullied is higher.

I think in English football if a player does come through generally it is the workhorse over the talent as they are easier to mould and means that even when players do come through for England they aren't of the required talent. The talented player is more risky than the workhorse. That's how you get the Livermores, Hendersons, Drinkwaters, being the English CM options, and now (though I think he has more about him) the Cooks.

Fwiw, Walkes was apparently been playing RB this past week for Atlanta.

I have, his shirt is folded, his socks are up, his hands are not where they should be and he is slouching a bit. But like, thats hardly indicative of an attitude problem. Its a photo, you can't deduce much from it.

You can see why people have singled him out. His posture, hands, and kit all different from the rest of the boys. And unlike beats has suggested, I don't think it has anything to do with the colour of his skin...he is the only one that hasn't adopted the same pose as the rest of the team.

I'm not saying he has an attitude problem, or is a bad kid or anything like that, just that when you look at the photo, it's Edwards that jumps out as different. And different=attitude problem with many.

Chill people. I can only imagine what Gazza was up to in similar team photos when he played. He even mouthed 'f****** w*****' in his official 'line up' video short which got played before every game across the world in Italia 90. Lol.

I just don't see anything wrong with that photo. Can't actually believe it's being talked about

I think because there had already been a few murmurs re his attitude, when you see that photo Its easy to put 2+2 and come up with 5 ,which I personally did.Which in retrospect was probably a bit harsh. But will be interesting to actually see a full 90 mins against quality opposition in the Dutch on Thursday if he hopefully starts.I think there's nothing more every Spurs fan wants to see than Marcus fulfill the promise he has shown in Spurs shirt for many years to come.would be fantastic for him and the club.

Our website is updated. This year intakes are still missing though.

Interesting that Scott Parker is u18 head coach and Matt Wells is his assistant. Do we swap position between Wells and Cochrane? I remember Wells was with U23.
